"My thoughts go out to you, my Immortal Beloved
I can live only wholly with you or not at all -
Be calm my life, my all. Only by calm consideration of our existence can we achieve our purpose to live together.
Oh continue to love me, never misjudge the most faithful heart of your beloved.
Ever thine
Ever mine
Ever ours."
Ludwig van Beethoven
- Immortal Beloved
It was a blind date. My best friend is married to his best friend and they decided to play Cupid and introduce us. Luckily they were part of our dinner date and made the evening a little more comfortable and a little less awkward. That is when our wonderful journey together started.
I did a bride’s make-up that weekend and decided to drag him with me, as he had to go away for business the following day and I wanted to spend as much time with him as possible. The venue where I did the bridal make-up was near Kievits Kroon in Pretoria and he impulsively decided that we should spend the evening there just to have a change of scenery and to relax. We decided to put on our pyjamas and have a movie marathon. I was still busy getting ready to do absolutely nothing when he decided to go down on one knee and ask the question. Not that romantic (as it was unplanned), but oh so perfect!!!

There are so many amazing memories, but the most memorable moment of our special day was the moment I saw my groom waiting for me before I walked down the aisle. I remembered taking a deep breath and telling myself that this is the best decision of my life. His face when he saw me and the look in his eyes when our eyes met shook me to the core in the most positive way imaginable. I was looking at my future and wasn’t more certain about anything ever in my entire life. My future husband was staring me right in the face and the love I felt was inexplicable.
Our special day took place at the Snowflake Mill in Potchefstroom. Oh it was absolutely perfect! The venue has a rustic, vintage, mysterious and relaxed feel to it and gives countless opportunities to experiment with a lot of different styles.
Our wedding photographer was Grant Betts.
What an extraordinary guy!!! Grant and his wife, Angie, are an amazing duo and it was so much fun working with them.

I tried extremely hard to plan the whole wedding myself, as I had a clear vision of what I wanted. BIG MISTAKE... It's not easy to plan a wedding while working Monday-Friday. Especially if you live in PTA and the venue is in Potch. In the beginning it was quite easy, but got really stressful after a few months. My husband(fiancé at the time) decided to give me a wedding planer as a gift for Valentine's Day. BEST GIFT EVER!!! He hired Magick Events in Potchefstroom to help plan our special day and they made it even more perfect than we ever could imagine.
