A girl always dreams of this day and for me, it was nothing short of a fairy tale. The moment my chosen wedding song started playing, I remember feeling my heart rate increase. My legs became like jelly and my palms started sweating. ' Was this really happening???' The walk down the isle was nerve-wrecking, but it immediately drained away when I looked into his eyes and knew that we were finally here! I was going to have the privilege of calling this man my husband for the rest of my life! The wedding was an emotional one, with tears being shed by My partner and I, our families and our friends. It was overwhelming to know that the hard work that went into this day was worth it. The Wedding ceremony concluded and led us to pictures where guests got to enjoy the scenery and have some refreshments. That took us into the evening and the start of the reception. My 3 most treasured memories there was walking into Liquid Deep's Fairytale (The song we labelled as 'ours' 7 years ago), our speeches to each other and our first dance as husband and wife. The reception led to a night of amazing memories. This day was a memory that I will treasure for as long as I live.
We spent 4 nights in the shopping capital of Hong Kong and 7 nights thereafter in beautiful Bali
I aimed to go for the Classical Regal look with a modern twist. My hair and make-up was done by the phenomenal duo Mark & Clint, who left me speechless! My wedding clothes, along with jewellery was carefully selected by my partner and I after months of endless shopping. I really did not believe people when they told me 'You'll know its the one', until the day I saw myself in the outfit I chose.
The wedding was held at De Charmoy Estate which allowed our guests to stay the night and celebrate with us.
All I aimed to do was eat healthy and go to gym. I was so busy, I didn't have time to do spa treatments or anything related.
The Décor was handled by Maharaj's Caterers who really outdid themselves. My flowers was done by someone who has been a huge support to my partner and I, Thasie, from Kogie's Florists.
The Groom had his suit designed for him by Gangaram's in Umhlanga. He opted for a rich champagne coloured suit to match the colours of my outfit. The suit was modern yet still kept with the Regal look we were aiming for.
Jay Pillay from Jay Pillay Photography was able to capture moments we will treasure forever. He was so easy and accommodating for us to work with, he was there and you didn't even know it!
Not exactly a planner, but my creative Uncle and Aunt helped us from the beginning. They assisted with most choices, gave honest opinions and planned without us even knowing.
The food was handled by Harish from Maharaj's Caterers and my simple yet elegant wedding cake and candy table was done by the little miracle worker, Sasha, from Sugar Coated Cakes.
My partner and I both wanted a classic and elegant wedding invitation. These had wooden backs ( A shared love for wood had to be present) and an ivory coloured front, all cards had hand written names and wax sealed with our initials, JR.
We agreed to have a venue that could accommodate for a celebration. There was a violinist who played John Legend's All of Me, the song we first danced to as Husband and Wife. After that there was a DJ to entertain our guests thereafter.
