It was special from the minute I walked down the isle and I only saw my groom standing at the altar, I did not hear or see anyone else, I did not even hear the music playing it was just me and him. I know it sounds corny but it felt like I was walking on clouds! The day was perfect in every single aspect. Our guests enjoyed the wedding so much that they stayed there until 4 am the next morning.
We went to Mauritius for our honeymoon.
I had my wedding gown made in Port Elizabeth by Gerhard Meiring.
Ive always wanted my dress to have a part where there is a lot of intricate detail and flows into simplicity and clean lines. I picked out my own lace and the designer cut the lace and created his own patterns which then the lace was hand sewed onto the dress. My special friend Martie Olivier did my hair and makeup, I wanted a soft plain look and she did an amazing job. I absolutely love velvet and I had to put it in somewhere on my wedding day, so I decided to get myself some blush velvet shoes. My mother surprised me with the most beautiful soft white lace lingerie to wear on my wedding day.
We both exactly knew that we wanted an outdoor wedding in our own home town. We both come form the countryside and our families lives close by. My parents live on a small holding between the orchards and the house is overlooking a river surrounded by green grass lands. With such beauty we could not resist not getting married there and for Daneel's love for citrus it was the best decision we could make. We decided to do the ceremony in the garden overlooking the tent and the river. my parents build a big deck overlooking the river which we made full of chandeliers and fairy lights to set a romantic atmosphere.
We decided on a clear frame marquee tent for the wedding and for the guests to enjoy the view from the inside out.
We decided on a touch of citrus with colorful flowers and lots of green to give it a fresh feel. Ive always had this picture in my head of when you enter the wedding venue you must see flowers everywhere! we decided to hang flowers and greenery from the roof and along we put chandeliers with fairy lights to give it a dramatic citrus affair look. I love antiques (copper and brass) so we decided to mix the citrus and a touch of copper, brass and silver for a stylish and formal countryside wedding.
We hired the suits of the groomsman at Peri's suit hire.
we bought their accesories from woolworths and the leather bow ties from Theron and Theron designs
The groom bought his suit at zara.
We Bought his shoes at Aldo, his belt at Pringle of scotland and his leather tie from Theron and Theron designs.
I had the best most beautiful bridesmaids I could've ever asked for!Sparkly gowns! gold, silver and metallic beading was what I had in mind. i wanted it to complement the touch of gold copper and brass in my decor.
I made the tulle skirts myself and bought the metallic tops online.
