I got to marry the man of my dreams, my best friend and my soulmate on the most glorious of days at The Lord Milner Hotel in Matjiesfontein.
We knew exactly what we wanted from our wedding:
1. It had to be a destination wedding
2. We wanted to be surrounded by our friends and family who have had an impact on our lives
3. FUN was at the top of the agenda
4. ...and class...
The venue was a no-brainer. Matjiesfontein is the most beautiful gem of a spot and could accommodate all of our guests for the full 3-days of celebrations which kicked off with a braai on the Friday evening followed by the wedding on the Saturday and rounding things off with my husband's birthday pool party on the Sunday. It was truly a wedding of EPIC proportions.
I had the honor of being given away by my 11-year old son. Guests were taken on the red-bus tour whilst we had our photos taken. The food was of exceptional quality and we even had our wine bottles personalized with our surname and the date.
Our entertainment was in the form of The Rockerfellas, an awesome rock band from Cape Town who performed some familiar favourites under the starlit Karoo sky. One of our dear friends did a secretly planned Elvis impersonation. Speeches were out of this world and included a personalized 10-minute long poem written by our best man and recited off the top of his head.
There is simply nothing that I would change of our special wedding day. To this day we are still getting comments from our friends on how much they enjoyed to share our day with us. If it hadn't been as much hard work, I'd have done it all over again... with the same gorgeous man, of course!!!!
