The memorable moments of our wedding for me was mainly our nontraditional choice of music and how relaxed it was and the effort our friends and family made to be with us on our special day was overwhelming.
I walked down the isle to Daniel Johns cover of Nirvana's Smells Like Teen Spirit. Then when we walked back up the isle together to the Nirvana's original version of the same song.
We had our nieces and nephews at the wedding and guests were of course allowed to bring their children which helped make the whole environment much more relaxed.
We went to Indonesia for our Honeymoon. We started off in Ubud, Bali, then went off to Gilli Trawangan Island just off Lombok Island and then returned to Bali Island to check out Kuta. It was incredible!
We wanted our wedding to be super chilled, rustic and to represent us.
My Dress was by Vessalina Pentcheva. I did my own make up and my hair was done by my hairdresser Susan. My shoes were Navy Blue pumps to match my husbands suit and i had a beautiful hairpiece made by Johnny Bovang from Cape Town City Ballet.
My Husband wore a navy blue suit, a classic, great look which he chose.
We got married at a venue called De Oudekraal just outside of Stanford in the Overberg. We had a Wedding Weekend. Guests mostly stayed at the Stanford Valley Guest Farm and surrounds.
I had my nails done with a beautiful Gelish colour that matched my dress and I had my eyelashes done. Both by Kirby and Teen. I didn't do a fake tan our change anything else about how I normally look because i wanted to be as normal as possible.
My Joburg Bridal Party was hosted at a Spa where i had a Full body massage and we all had a manicure.
My decor was mostly planned by my mom and my parents-in-law's sister-in-law Desire who were so patient and awesome.
We did alot of DIY ourselves. We had minimal flowers but lots of lighting. We hired a few things that we used on the tables and for decor. Our venue had so much included we didn't have to do too much either which was great.
Because we wanted our wedding as relaxed as possible we said that the groomsmen could wear whatever suit they wanted, they all ended up wearing different shades of blue which was perfect.
My bridesmaids chose their own dresses, that they decided should all be the same, and they were bought, not made. They each wore there own shoes and they all looked beautiful.
We got married in court on 8 Feb officially but the wedding was on the weekend of the 11th. We didnt want to waste time away from our guests so we did the formal stuff before hand and got our dear friend, Ashwell Glasson to "marry" us on the day.
Our photographer and videographer was Johann Latsky, Latskymultimedia. He is my brothers best friend and he did us a big favour by doing the photos, videos and photobooth. He was brilliant.
Yes she was a family friend who helped with decor and made sure things ran smoothly on the day.
The Venue prepared our food. We had a cheese and bread table for starters and Gourmet Burgers for the main. We ddint have a cake but we had a sweet table that my mom organised.
