The most memorable part of my day was that after 10 years and having been right under my nose the entire time, finally married the man of my dreams!

Every girl dreams of her wedding dress from the time she's 5 years old, but me...I could never imagine that I'd one day wear a VALENCIA HARRISON Original bespoke gown & made as though I'd always imagined. I did my own make up ;) cos I can. My shoes are from CALL IT SPRING & earrings were from LOVISA. I tried as much as possible to stick with locally made products & businesses.

We got married at Masjidul Jumuah, the mosque my family & I attend ever since I can remember. Our reception was at The Venue in Lansdowne, Cape Town. Our guests came to share our day with us from Dubai & Cape Town.
I hear the Spa is a good place to go before a wedding because of all the stress and planning that goes into a wedding, but sadly I didn't find the time. I had one last half marathon before the wedding and eating healthy is second nature, so I tried to stick to routine as much as possible to hold onto my sanity (*_`)
Instead of a white wedding, I always dreamt of adding black into the mix & I succeeded ;). The decor was mainly white with touches of silver & black. The cake made by ILZE SE TUISGEBAK was a mad hatter themed cake, black and white with red roses.
The groom wore a black fitted Pierre Cardin suit with a crisp white shirt & slim black tie.
I had two flower girls in my bridal party. Their dresses were made by my sister, who's business is called LADY KIMONO. She dabbles with a bit of everything and I must say, the kids' dresses were beautiful!! The bodices were made of an ivory lace & the bottoms were black tulle. They wore Converse sneakers with their dresses and flower crowns and mini bouquets made my ILHAAM'S FLOWERS in Canal Walk, CPT

I managed everything myself. It was both nerve wrecking & memorable. It's a period I will likely never forget...
The food was prepared by The Venue Broadway & the cake as mentioned before was done by ILZE SE TUISGEBAK.
