The entire day was the highlight of our lives. The ceremony was absolutely stunning and set the tone for the rest of the day. Garden games, Pierre Jourdan wine popsicles and amazing foods and live entertainment made this a truly unique and wonderfull wedding.
We went on honeymoon the very next morning as we departed for Zanzibar. It was amazing...
The look was Bohemian emphasising the earthy look with a lot of greenery. The dress was a low back cut and elegancy was the look I went for. Because my husband's name is Aldo we both got our shoes from Aldo's. My husband gave me a Fiorri tennis bracelet on the morning of the wedding and my ear rings was from Forever New. Hair and make up was done by Andelien Steyn and her brilliant team.
We got married at The Stone Cellar wedding venue in Heidelberg. Half of our guests stayed overnight at the venue with the others needing to arrange nearby accomodation at one of many guest houses in the vicinity.
All of the above, we love to excersize in any case, but special attention and products were used for my skin and teeth. My sister took me for a spa treatment a week before the wedding.
The decor was done by Something Blue and was mainly kept to a vintage wooden theme. The flowers were done by Hartelief and green and white was the main focus encorporating a lot of olive branches. We had an open air wedding so we had to hire white garden umbrellas which we got from Umbrellas Gauteng.
The groom wore a taylor made olive green suit with brown Aldo shoes and a brown belt with a darker shade of green tie. The groomsmen all looked exactly the same, same brown shoes, same brown trousers, white shirts and taylor made waist coats (the best man wore a diffirent waist coat). All the groomsmen had the same socks and sunglasses which made for very cool photos.
The bridesmaids also wore taylor made floral print dresses to enhance the bohemian look and feel of the wedding. The material was found at a small botique shop after months of searching around.
We got married by a reverant whom the groom had a personal relationship with. We went through the pre marriage counseling with him to ensure that he knew us both before officiating our big day. He also pulled out his guitar and led the singing in the service which was beatiful.
Casper Willemse (CLW Photography) was our wedding and engagement photographer. We went for an engagement shoot in Maboneng and also used this to get to know our photographer. He arrived at 7am on our wedding day to ensure he captured everything. There was no photo booth.
The venue did provide the option of a coordinator on the day and we decided that it would be best if she helped with the procedings on the day. She did a very good job of keeping everything on time and everybody happy. Thank you to Sam Kruger.
Because we stayed at the venue the previous night there was no need for transport arrangements.
The food was prepared by the in house chef (who also has her own catering company called Eighty Ate Food Company). From the canopes through to the deserts, everything was absolutely delicious. The wedding cake was made by The Victorian Secret which was as beautiful as it was delicious.
The invites, wedding newspapers, wedding logo and all other printed stationery was done by a graphic designer which we only knew by the name Sheree. It was done brilliantly and proffesionally.
We opened the dance floor immideately after the ceromony. We did a slow dance that converted into a Jive to get the party going. We did not go for any dance lessons but practiced the routine a couple of times two days before the wedding. The sound and lighting was done by Gerrit van Heerden who doubles as a live entertainer and DJ. He did an excellent job of getting everybody on the dancefloor untill the early hours of the morning.
