Walking down the isle with my dad was the most incredible feeling. I was so nervous yet so excited and then I saw my husband and couldn't stop smiling. The whole ceremony my husband and I just focused on eachother and it was so special that those moments were ours to hold onto.
My dance with my husband was very special and with my dad. The whole day went so smoothly and every moment spent with my family and friends was unforgettable. Friends and family came from all over to be with us on our day and it meant so much.
We went to Thailand and Vietnam. The most amazing place with incredible food and spectacular beaches.
I bought my dress from The Woodstock Wedding Boutique. They have I would say the best range in Cape Town. It took about 4 months to order and fitted me well. I wanted a dress that had volume and that suited my figure best. My shoes were a champagne colour bought from Bride and Co. I had earrings made and my Husband gave me a beautiful watch to wear on the day. My bridesmaids also gave me two bracelets. So overall was very spoilt.
We got married at La Petite Dauphine Estate in Franschhoek. A beautiful wine farm with rolling lawns, vines and a stunning mountain backdrop.
Our bridal party stayed on the farm the entire weekend.
Lots of pampering before the wedding. Massages, hair, face and nail treatments. I had a personal trainer who trained me for a year so I could look great in my wedding dress.
We wanted a very natural look. Our wedding venue was very beautiful on its own so we didn't need to dress it up much. Our colours were white, cream, and dusty pinks. The wine farm had a very french look and feel about it so we kept that in mind when doing the décor. For the outside ceremony we hired wooden cross back chairs, a wooden structure for shading was erected with a wooden arch. The reception had beautiful wooden beams with large lanterns hanging down which we didn't need to dress up. We had a large u-shape table setting with flowers and lanterns. It was a simple but elegant look.
The groom wore a Blue suit with a white bow tie and the groomsman wore black tuxes and black bowties.
They all looked so smart.
I wanted my bridesmaids to look feminine and natural but relatively formal. So we went with a dusty pink colour in a long dress and in a style that suited them all. They looked beautiful.
Our Minister was a family friend who did the most outstanding job. He is a fourth generation Methodist Minister. His sermon was so personal to us and we really connected with him. A very special day for all of us.
Our photographer Veronique Mills did an incredible job in capturing all our precious moments. She is really brilliant at her job. Our videographer Barefeet Videography also did an incredible job. They were very discrete and lovely people to work with. An overall great experience.
I did all the planning with the help of my now Husband, family and friends. Our individual suppliers were great so it was relatively easy coordinating everything.
Due to us staying on the wine estate. Our mode of transport was a golf cart which we dressed up in ribbon. It was brilliant as it was a hot day and perfect to get in and out of.
Our wine estate had their very own restaurant Café Bon Bon and their chef prepared a 5 course set menu. The food was so delicious and they went above and beyond in presentation for 101 people.
Wade cakes did a fantastic job too. He designed a croquembouche cake. Its a traditional French cake which went with our theme. My husband cut the top off with a sword and myself and the bridesmaids caught the top in a sheet.
Lara designs did all our stationary. She created our invitations, menu's, guests gifts, table numbers, and all our signs.
They do the most beautiful work. Highly recommend her.
We had two bands and a dj.The Dj played at our ceremony.
We hired Manouche which is a gypsy jazz band. They played when we had canapé's.
We also hired Me and Mr Brown. They played live at our reception.
Both bands are incredibly talented and I would highly recommend them.
They really added a special touch to our day.
Barefeet loves nothing more than the opportunity to capture these once-in-a-lifetime memories in the most natural, authentic and captivating way.
