We decided to do everything so it was quite a busy morning.. we live 500km away from Bloemfontein but decided to get married there as most of our family resides there. When we arrived the Wednesday before the big day Bloemfontein was soaking. The next 3 days we could basically do nothing... the morning of our wedding day we woke up to sunshine and atlast the day was save as we decided on a garden ceremony. Now our guests will be sitting in sunshine. The most memorable moment after all of our last minute saves definitely was when i finally got to walk down the aisle towards my now husband then husband to be. I don't recall everyone sitting along the pathway in that moment it was only the two of us and everyone and everything around us slowly faded. During our reception as our Pastor delivered The word a massive cloud moved infont of the sun and atlast our guests was out of the sun , this cloud remained there until the end of the ceremony and then the sun came out again that was quite powerfull to us. Theres so many more but one that stood out particular was when it began to rain again just as we finished prayer before the main coures was served, kind of old fashioned but after all it was a farmstyle vintage wedding in some culture's its believed that if it rains on your wedding day its a blessed union and we truly felt blessed beyond measure.
Nope.
I went for a natural look. Not a lot of make-up. My dress was ivory overlayed with a vintage white lace and netting a traditional dress with a twist all see thru laced back special made and designed by an a amazing local dressmaker in the Northern Cape. With our vintage theme i had to go for pearl earings and a plain pearl braclet. Shoes was pearled up aswell. Hair was done by a local Bloemfontein hairstyle and family member we went for a relaxed and comfortable style.
We got married at a family owned venue just outside Bloemfontein named Marieko Landgoed perfect for a reception and ceremony in one place. Venue comes with 8 rooms where our closes family got to spend the night and other guests that had to travel far got to stay at nearby lodges not more than 5km located from the venue and Bains Game Lodge.
