The most amazing moment of my wedding was seeing my future hubby’s face when I walked down the isle. It’s a bit cliché mentioning this, but this was truly breathtaking.
It was also absolutely amazing looking at all of the guests enjoying dinner and having a good time. We had a family style meal. Guests passed around dishes of food, chatted and laughed as if they were home having a meal.
We went to Arabella Hotel and Spa. My hubby arranged it all as a surprise. With a new surprise and spoil each day.
My wedding look was very natural. No fake nails or lashes. I wore my short hair down and ironed with a birdcage to complete the look. The birdcage and garter was designed by Carlize Bam. Makeup was natural yet classy and different with rosegold blush and eyeshadow. Done by my amazing cousin Hesmé Kruger. I chose my wedding shoes, bearing in mind that I can wear it again afterwards. I had flats and a rosegold glittered block heel. My wedding dress was designed according to a picture I had in my mind. It was amazingly executed by Lana Design Studio. It came out exactly like I wanted it. All my jewellery was rosegold and the bracelet I wore was a gift given to my by my parents on the wedding day.
We got married at NASDAK. Media 24’s rooftop venue. The place is amazing. It suited our Urban Chic styled wedding, with 360• views of the amazing Mother City.
Our wedding party stayed the night at the Townhouse Hotel.
Leading up to the wedding. I ensured that I kept my good eating and exercise habits. I went for some non-invasive facial peels, got my teeth whitned and enjoyed a few sunbed sessions.
I also went for Ozone therapy. This ensured that I looked healthy and glowing.
Our decor was inspired by an Urban Chic theme. We had all white tables and chairs. With rosegold decor elements and only greenery on the tables and touches of navy.
My dad made the most amazing stands that held our flowers and fairy lights. I will include a few pictures of the decor.
Lighting was only on the dancefloor. Sponsered by one of our best friends. Levo Staging.
My hubby wore a navy suit sourced from Woolworths. With tan shows and a belt. The groomsmen wore navy pants with light grey shirts and navy polkadot ties. They had lapel pins with some greenery.
Their pants were hired from Eurosuit and the shirts was drom Markham.
Our master of ceremonies (my brother) also wore the same pants and shirt. But had a waistcoat and a different tie.
My bridesmaids wore long navy dresses. The maid of honor had a slightly different look. They wore their own choice of shoes. A combination of beige and rosegold. They also had rose gold jewellery on.
Their hair was done by Mariska Hair and makeup also by my cousin.
Gerrie Coetzee. He is my dad. It was soooo special to have him walk me down the aisle and then turning around to marry me.
Monique at Lovepix Photography. She was amazing. We wanted to take pictures in the streets of Cape Town. But with it being a windy city, there were gusts of about 100km/h. We couldn’t leave the venue at all. Monique improvised and took our pictures inside. It came out amazing!!
Yes. We had Roxanne De Bruin from Green Catering.
We made use of my hubby’s parents cars. Both cars are white Audi’s. SQ5 and an S3.
The food was prepared by Green Catering. We had rustic style family food. Little bits of everything that both of us love. Steak, stuffed chicken, goats cheese and beetroot salad. Waldorf salad with blue cheese, etc. Canapés were streetfood. Mini burgers, tacos, mini pizzas, etc.
Our wedding cake was a two tier cake with dark chocolate and bar one and red velvet and cream cheese. Made by Salome Sweetistry.
Stationary was designed by Ruxshana Jacobs. And we printed it ourselves.
We took dance lessons for our first dance. We did a combination of the foctrot and rumba. On Incredible by Neo and Celene Dion. Our party was amazing. Everyone danced and the DJ did very well. We made use of Henrico September of SpinningDex. Lighting was done by Phillip Burger of Levo Staging.
