He was painted green.
It was a dress up 21st party and I was working as a waitress. He was dressed as Hulk with only a pair of ripped denim shorts on. I immediately fell in love with him, the moment he set foot in the restaurant where I worked. We met afterwards, and he asked me out on the pier at Hobie Beach in Port Elizabeth.
6 years later, in 2015, we went to Thailand. He asked me to marry him on New Year's Eve in Phuket. I had no idea of what was in store for me. Justin waited for the opportune moment which never came. He hid the ring in a pair of socks so that I would not find it. Each day of our romantic holiday went by and so did the opportune moments. His plan was to ask me on the beach, but with all the fireworks that exploded around us, it was almost like a scene from D-day. He tried to lure me into following him to a more secluded area, but I was tired and wanted to go back to the hotel. It was around 2am at this time.
After being stuck in traffic on a scooter for two hours, we eventually got back to our room. As we were packing to leave the next day, Justin's time was running out. He eventually asked me to come sit with him on the balcony of our hotel room and out of no-where... He popped the question.. I was so shocked I said "Ag nee man" and started crying. I eventually said yes and the rest is history!
I was spoiled with a two week honeymoon in Bali. I only found out that our final destination was Bali, when we arrived at the airport in Doha.
We got married at The Plantation in Port Elizabeth. We grew up in a small town called Uitenhage which is just outside of PE. Most of our family and friends live in this area which made it easier for everyone to attend.
