Firstly, when my dad came to fetch me. The look on his face ... there are no words. He stood there, walked around me with tears in his eyes and told me I look like a princess. (I definitely felt like one).
Secondly, The moment I saw my husband. He started crying as he saw me and the whole moment walking to him with my dad... so special.
Thirdly, I had the privilege that my grandfather married us. WOW!! How unbalievable was his sermon!
Yes we did go on honeymoon.
This was all a surprise to me and I only found out when we got to the airport. My husband took me to my favorite place. Its a lodge in Namibia called Erindi. He booked us into the VIP suite. Best honeymoon I could've asked for!!
I decided to do a half up half down with curls. My main goal was to still look like me. My make up was very neutral.
The jewellery:
My bracelet was a pearl bracelet that my mother made when I was born. That day she decided that that will be the bracelet I wear on my wedding day one day, and indeed I did.
My neckless was one that my husband's grandmother gave to him a while ago. She said that the neckless must go to his wife one day. So that was the neckless I wore on my wedding day.
My earings - my engagement ring has some rose gold in so I decided to match up my earings with my engagement ring.
Lingerie:.
My garter was something that my mom also made. This was a surprise as I struggled to get something I liked. She made exactly what I was looking for.
We got married at Mongena Game Lodge which is situated in the Dinokeng Game Reserve. Ultimate bush wedding venue.
The guests had the option to stay over at Mongena Game Lodge, some did and some didnt.
I went to sorbet to get our nails done (hands and feet) No need for any other treatments. I always stay healthy so no need for weight loss etc.
The theme we went for was navy blue and silver. We wanted to go for the simple but still elegant look. No hectic flower arrangements. Flowers we used was Gyps arranged in a glass bottle on a wooden log surrounded by candles. Lots of fairylights and candles and tried to get a comfortable atmosfere.
The groom wore a navy blue suit and the groomsmen wore grey suits with navy blue ties. All of them had the same brown shoes and belts. All of them also wore funny socks and cufflings with their shirts. The groom had a tailored made suit and the groomsment rented their suits from Birde&Co.
Bridesmaid wore short navy blue dresses with a silver ribbon and matching blue and gray high heels.
My one bridesmaid at that time when we looked for bridesmaid dresses went to visit her mom in the UK. She saw the dresses in a shop there and we decided to buy them.
My grandfather.
My photographer was Ruth du Toit photography. She had a second photgrapher with her as well. We met her at the wedding expo in 2016 and she was beyond excellent! Funny and makes you feel so comfortable infront of the camera. Friendly with all the guests! I would recomend her to anyone!
We didn't have a videograpger and also didn't make use of a photobooth.
Yes,
Our wedding venue has a wedding coordinator who helped a lot as well as a lady who helped me with the decor (Glammed style Events) Very professionale and she managed to do exactly what I wanted and everything was just perfect!!
Food was done by Mongena Game Lodge. One thing we do know the guests enjoyd was the food! AMAZING!!
Wedding cake was done by Eat Love Cakes. We had a small wedding cake and macaroons coming down. Out of a lot of tastings we went to, they were definitely the best!!
