Juan and I met in 2010, we were both out watching a band in a local pub and I happened to spot him in among the crowds. The minute I saw him I was smitten, his personality and love for life where just a few of the amazing bonuses I got to know later on over the years together. Juan & I have a mutual friend who set us up on a "blind date" and the rest is history...
7 amazing years later we got engaged on April 5th 2017 and we will be getting married this December.
Juan asked me to marry him on April 5th, which also happens to be my birthday. He had been planning the proposal for months and I had no idea it was coming. We had planned to stay home that evening and have a candlelit dinner to celebrate my birthday. Without expecting anything I had turned around at one point in the evening and he was on one knee asking me to spend the rest of our lives together. Without hesitation I said yes, the tears where flowing and eventually after the longest hugs I got to put the most beautiful ring on my finger. In December ill be marrying the man of my dreams. Im thankful everyday for Juan and our beautiful life we live together. He is my inspiration and without a doubt my soul mate.
We got married at Surval Boutique Olive Estate in Oudtshoorn. Most of our guests stayed the night including us in the honeymoon suite.
Our color scheme was rose gold, white and grey. All our candle holders where glass or rose gold, our under plates were glass and the napkins linen grey. The tables had garlands all in white roses, greenery and grey foliage. My bouquet, hair piece and the wedding cake were moody flowers. We concentrated alot on lighting and candles, we had hanging bulbs above our tables and little glass balls with led lights above our main table.
The groom had a grey suit with a navy waistcoat. The waistcoat was custom made. The groomsmen wore navy pants. They all had white shirts and navy ties with brown belts and brown shoes.
My bridesmaids chose their own top pieces of the dresses, the bottoms were all long. The dresses were dove grey in color, with a mesh over the heavy bonbon, the tops were all roughed.
I didnt have a planner, it all came down to me :)
We have 5 wedding cakes, 1 main two tiered cake and the rest single layers. Our wedding cake was a chocolate carrot with a white cream cheese icing. The other cakes were chocolate ganache, baked cheesecake and Italian lemon meringue. Ninas made our cakes. We had a buffet starter table while photos were taken. The mains where served and guests had a choice before the wedding day to choose between Chicken, Beef Fillet or Salmon. The food was prepared by Surval.
