It was the best day of my life! Everything went according to plan! The venue - Berluda Farmhouse & Cottages - was beautiful and stunning! My photographer - Ruan Redelinghuys - captured every memorable moment and did more than what we wanted. The food was out of this world and there was more than enough! My wedding day was a fairytale coming true!
We did not plan to go away right after the wedding, the farm still required a lot of our attention. But my mom and one of my bridesmaids organized a short break for us in Swellendam. We stayed at Aan De Oever Guesthouse, they have the most stunning views and outstanding service! Our plan is to go to Thaiand later in 2018 for a proper honeymoon!
My wedding look was exactly how I pictured it, infact it was better! My hair was done by Heidi Opperman from Serious Hair in Oudtshoorn. She new what I wanted before I even told her. My hair was half up half down, showing all the detail of my dress. My makeup was done by Raynette Schoeman from Scent of a woman in Oudtshoorn. I wanted the smokey eyes look and she nailed it! My eyes were greener then ever! My wedding dress was custom made by Lizette Cornelius. My dress were her first wedding dress and I think she outdone herself! The most special part of my wedding look was my jewellery. My grandma died earlier in 2017 and every piece of jewellery I wore was hers. It was more than special to me having her so close to me on my big day!
The ceremony was at NG Kangovallei, just outside Oudtshoorn on your way to the Cango Caves. The reception was at Berluda Farmhouse & Cottages. It was their first big wedding - 130 guest - and I thing they did more then good! We celebrated until 05:15 the next morning and most of my guest stayed over at the venue, thus no need for driving, which is why the celebration went on all night!
The reception was in a tent with a buildin dancefloor, with more than enough space for the 130 guests. I did most of the decor myself - grey hessian overlay, woodlog with red candles and a olive wrench and a red and grey windwill on top with the table number. Fairy lights all over, giving the tent a soft look feeling.
Grey suit trousers, white shortsleeve shirt with a grey tie and suspenders for the groom and red ties and suspenders for the groomsmen. We got everything from Markhams.
I saw the look on pinterest and the dresses was made by Lizette Cornelius from Oudtshoorn. It was n grey knee size dress. Dark grey lace on the top half, with lighter grey mesh for the bottom half.
Ds Christo van Staden from NG Kangovallei.
Our photographer was the amazing Ruan Redelinghuys - he was out of this world. He captured all the special moments and was almost attacked twice - first the bouquet throw and then the garter throw.
We had a photobooth - Giggles and Gags. This was the best idea ever to keep the guests busy, they had a blast with all the props!
No planner. I planned everything myself with the help of the venue.
