On our wedding day there were so many special moments. The most special was when I saw my dad waiting to walk me down the isle. It meant so much to share that with him. Another highlight would be the first dance. My husband and I never practised and the night before the wedding, my husband practised to make sure everything went smooth as he does not like to dance.
But the most memorable and best was how it drizzled throughout the day and stopped just before the ceremony in the garden. Giving us the most mesmerising sunset for our photos. Later that night it started to rain cats and dogs. Some guests had trouble getting to their homes because of wet roads.
I had no specific look in mind. I just wanted everything to look good on me and not the other way around. I fell in love with my dress which I bought at Cinderella's Closet. They helped me to change some minor detail and assisted me in finding the most beautiful shoes, veil and earrings. With that done the hair and make-up was next on the list. I had no problem finding a hairstyle as I always knew I want my hair down, curly and some strands pinned or braided. My hairstylist (whom I know for a few years) understood what I had on my mind and with a few pictures she just made it look absolutely gorgeous. The makeup was also no fuss as I wanted a natural look which compliments my eyes (which I think is my best feature).

We got married at Perdekraal just outside of Ermelo, Mpumalanga. The venue is breath-taking. When our guests entered they could see the horses on their right and a beautiful garden on the left where the ceremony took place. The people at the venue just had to make the garden look spectacular and they did a wonderful job. Our guests could see and hear the cattle throughout the night as they walked just behind the venue itself. Our guests slept in Guesthouses for the wedding.
My décor and flowers where chosen according to what I liked and to fit the greenery and white theme. We made use of white roses and a lot of eucalyptus branches. Most of the furniture where already at the venue so I just went with that. I wanted a romantic feeling to the night and think it felt that way.
The groom and groomsmen wore dark beige trousers with white shirts and blue straps. They bought their accessories and clothing at local franchises.
The bridesmaids wore green infinity dresses made by my cousin.
We had no photo booth. We had Amanda Boonzaaier take our photos. We saw her once to discus the day and she did a wonderful job. She worked at the venue before so she knew where to go and what can be done.
Mostly my mom and sister helped me to plan my day. I also had friends and my neighbour giving me advise.
The venue itself prepared the food. We had canapés for a starter, sheep on a spit with delicious sides. The cake was made by a lady my mom knows. It was a naked cake.
Our friend is also a photographer and she designed the wedding invite video. Al we had to do was send it out.
