The day was one of absolute magic and I tried my best to absorb every single moment and make it last. A memorable moment for me was sitting back for a few minutes and watching as two families became one, dancing and just having fun as if we had all been together for many years already.
We went on a lovely short honeymoon as we were also heading overseas to the UK shortly after the wedding, so we took a few days to ourselves and went to stay at a beautiful place called Manzini Swazi Chalets in Marloth Park. This was rather special to us as we both love the wildlife and my husbands late Granddad and my late Father also loved Marloth Park and The Kruger so we had them with us on our special journey in a way.
I like to think that I'm quite a simple and easy going person- but don't we all. I went for the simplistic rustic, forest type look. Lots of browns and greens, natural colours and set ups.
Hair was kept nice and easy, I didn't want it all in my face but also not completely pulled back so my hair was done perfectly.
Makeup I really left up to the makeup artist I had, she is absolutely amazing @carrieaustinmakeupartistry, I wanted natural and she went above and beyond to get exactly what I wanted with such a talent.
My wedding dress was made by my beautiful mother who has made all 3 of her daughters dresses. I didn't make life easy for her as I wanted a dress that was only just being made in Barcelona so there was no pattern for it- she made my dress from a few photos that I found and it was better than I could've ever imagined.
We got married at a stunning venue named Everwood Country Weddings in the Muldersdrift area, wedding venue central, it was just what I was looking for with the nature and forest feel/look.
Some of our guests stayed over night at chalets in a close radius to the venue

If I am completely honest I didn't do anything fancy leading up to the wedding. I think the most I did was get my eyebrows done and have a good soak in a bubble bath the night before.
The groom is a British Military Soldier so I really wanted him to wear his uniform, which he did and looked so dashing.
The groomsmen wore standard light brown chinos, white button up shirt and grey bowties to tie in with the colour the bridesmaids wore.
My bridesmaids wore beautiful grey dresses which were also made by my mother. For the ladies I chose a few photos of dress styles that I liked and actually got them to choose their design that they best liked- I didn't want my girls being forced into wearing dresses that didn't suit them and having them feeling uncomfortable on the day. I also got them to choose their own hairstyles that best matched their tastes.
The only things I kept the same for all the girls were their nail colour, bracelets and shoes.

Our marriage officer was a good friend and minister at our church, Louise.
Our amazing photographers were Lightflair Photography and I couldn't have asked for anyone better. They captured our day amazingly.
The food was prepared by the venue and man do they make some good chow.
Our wedding cake was made by the Victorian Secret in Benoni.
My sister and I basically made all of the stationery, invitations etc
