On a warm summer day, a light breeze blew on a Free State Farm. In a pretty garden was were two people promised to love one another for rest of their lives..that was us. There was a beautiful sunset on the horizon, a shed filled with eucalyptus, light wood, fairy lights, family and friends. We experienced peace, love and favour. We are thankful for all the blessings and that we can have memories to look at time and time again. It was the biggest day in both our lives and we can cherich all of it. Our day was just like we dreamt and prayed about, perfect.
We were very blessed to go on honeymoon. The honeymoon was a suprise.. I had to close my eyes when we arrive at the places where we stayed over.
South Africa is so beautifull and we discovered a bit of it. We were in Jeffreysbay for two nights and from there we went to Mosselbaai. We stayed at the beautifull Pinacle Point Estate for five days. From there on we went to Cape Town Sea Point and stayed at the Cape Peninsula All Suite Hotel for four nights.
My hair was curled. It was mostly tied up with some curled hair that was loose. It looked very nice. My makeup was done by my sister in law. I had false eye lashes on and the shading on the eyes was a light plum colour with silver, complimented with a smokey eye. My shoes was a low Nude Hedge and it was very comfortable. My earrings were medium long pearls and I had a bracelet that also had pearls in with some diamants. My dress was exquisite. It was an A-line dress with a square top. Part of the top was see- through and the back was covered in lace with parts that was also see-through. It was a Sherri Hill dress that I hired from Carmen’s Bridal Boutique in Welkom.
We got married on a farm outside of Kroonstad on the Viljoenskroon / Bothaville road. The ceremony was in the garden between trees, with a view of the plains. The reception was in the corrigated iron shed. Most of the guests were from Kroonstad, so they went home after the wedding. Our other guests stayed in guesthouses or with friends / family in Kroonstad or nearby areas.
I use Vitaderm products and just kept going on with my normal routines. My sister in law is a beauty therapist and she did my facials. I also went to Tina Scholtz Spa in Potch for a Detoxifying Volcanic Ash massage & wrap. I didn't really train or ate healthier.
Our flowers were eucalyptus and there were a few white roses and gyp our table. The décor was very plain. We only had fairy lights, candles and some eucalyptus against the corrugated iron. We made wooden underplates and lanterns. Everything complimented each other and it looked very beautiful. We had fairylights in the shed.
The look was very much of a farm style. There was a lot of raw light wood and it looked beautiful with the dark green eucalyptus. It was a very comfortable feel yet elegant because of the simplicity of the wedding. The colors of the wedding were olive green color (eucalyptus), raw light wood color and a bit of white and silver.
The groomsmen wore navy pants with light brown shoes and belts, white shirts and navy ties. The groom wore a navy blue suit also with a white shirt, light brown shoes and belt.
The groom's suit was bought at Markhams and the pants of the groomsmen were bought at Woolworths.
The belts and shoes were also bought at Markhams.
My bridesmaids wore long light grey dresses. The dresses were very plain and had a navy lace ribbon around the middle.
The idea / look was found on Pinterest. It was made by Hanlie Odendaal in the Kroonstad District.
Alan Ogilvie from the Cell Church in Kroonstad
Francois Slabbert from Palm Photography took our photos. He is an excellent photographer and he doesn't make you feel uncomfortable. He knows exactly what he is doing and he is very professional. Our photos is amazing.
Werner did our video from First Kiss Videography. He knew what he was doing and were very pleasant.
Our video is beautiful and we get tears every time we watch it.
My brother in law surprised us with a photo booth. It was very cool and the people had a lot of fun with it.
No, we did not have a planner. We planned the wedding ourselves and family and friends helped.
Two Toyota Fortuners of our friends picked up the bride and bridemaids and the groom and groomsmen ride with Bakkies.
Our food was out of the books! Johan Badenhorst from Johnique made our food. He is situated in Kroonstad.
My sister in law made our wedding cake and it was very nice. We still ate some of the cake on honeymoon:)
We did it ouselves and it was a priviledge to be so involved in your own wedding.
We can dance pretty good so it wasn't necessary to go for lessons, though we did not even practice once since there was just no time..but it all went well. The first dance was beautiful. We had a DJ, Steven McGowan from Kroonstad. The music was very good and all the guests danced the whole night. We did the lightning ourselves. We kept the lightning simple, we only had fairy lights in the shed and it looked beautiful.
