The highlights on my wedding day were getting prepared and dolled up for the moment I got to walk down the aisle.
And the memorable moments were seeing all our friends and family coming together and gathering just to be there for us to make our big day that more special.
The venue has this magical garden feel with ducks and swans in the ponds and the amazing free feeling of getting married by the outside chapel in the middle of nature was just so peaceful and gave our vows that extra special feeling of a higher power at work that day. So much love...
We decided to go to paradise in The Seychelles! And it truly was a paradise. We had beach facing rooms. And white sands, palms and the sea as our view. It was so breathtaking and so serene.
What a relaxing and fun holiday. We love nature and wanted to go diving and Seychelles had exquisite snorkelling and dive sites!
I wanted a classic chick look. A French- European kind of style. My theme was diamonds and pearls and the base colours were ice green and silver. I wanted a mermaid styled dress with lots of tulle and drama on the lower part of the dress, with a shimmer and shine to it and some pearl detailing and the veil had to be long and with lace. That was an absolute must. My hair and make up needed to be bold but classic curls for my long hair to create some volume and bounce. And was done by Timeless makeup atristry.
My wedding dress was found at bride and co. After much looking and after many fittings a month before the big day I found my perfect dress!
My shoes were bought at botique.
Lingerie was bought at la senza after i found a cute little number for my wedding day and wedding night!
Most of my jewellery were pearls and bought at Sterns
And last but not least my mother helped me find most of my accessories from various stores around the East Rand area.
I got married at Pheasant Hill Estate which is also a B&B
It is a hidden gem! The gardens are wondering and lush with pathways and signs leading to where ever you need to go. The duck and swan ponds are pretty decorated with plants and saasonal flowers everywhere. The stables add the the rich french chateau theme and the horses are a friendly addition to photographs.
It has a big hall with the most stunning blossom paintings on the walls and that classical black & white checks dance floor, an indoor observatory filled with orchids everywhere. Its like flower heaven! And outside a stunning outdoor chapel for those garden weddings. I feel in-love when i went to see the venue. And I had to get married there
Many of our guests stayed over and we all had a charming buffet breakfast the next morning in the observatory and next day chatter. It was Bliss.
My bridal regime was a good skin care range which includes day cream, night cream and a good exfloliating mask all from Estee Lauder.
On the health and fitness front I tried having home cooked meals to keep energy levels up. I went on regular walks almost daily.
My teeth got the overall OK from a general visit to the dentist
My spa treatements included tan can sessions for the perfect summer glow and I got a mani pedi at a local salon called Jurix
My decor had to be eligant. I had centre pieces consisting of large silver ornate candalabras for all the tables that were filled with green edged white roses and diamante centre pins to complimemt the diamonds and pearls theme and the ice green and silver colours.
Out little suite and wedding dress sweety boxes were place by each guest plate.
The decor was very ornate and the solid wood chairs and wall art added to the classical ballroom feel.
The lighting was inhouse and was set to a romatic dim and candles lit as the sunset pemetrated through the large windows and glass door window panes giving off a romantic feel. There was mood lighting for the funs stuff and dancing after including spot lights and fun disco lights.
We also had an inhouse sourced violinist and accordian player during our guest canapes service and the Dj was also inhouse all from Pheasant Hill.
I additionally to that had rented doves to release after we tied the knot it added that last touch to the cerenony and 21 doves were released supplied from DovesDivine
The groom and groomsmen all got their suits from Eurosuit and i ordered smalll accessories like their fun socks from an online shop called www.weddingstore.co.za
Their waistcoats and other accessories were self bought overseas.
They all bought their own shoes and had the grooming session the morning of the wedding at home. With help from the proud moms ofcourse!
My bridesmaids wore ice green long sheer like dresses with a diamante detailing along the bust. It was the ideal colour and when i saw them I had to have them because they were perfect for my theme. I found the look browsing online and eventually saw these dresses at a botique near home.
Their accessories were store bought from accessorize
My marriage officer was Pastor George Van de Riet. You can find him on celebration.co.za
Who adds a lovely personal touch to his ceremonies and a slight hint of humour to lighten the mood for the bride and groom and guests included.
Pastor Van de Riet also offered us marriage counselling prior to our wedding as well.as handled all the legal requirements for documents we needed including our marriage certificate at home.afdairs on our behalf. Which was a huge stress saver.
He also has a back up on stand by should he fall ill on the day of your wedding. Big bonus.
Brendan Stewart Photography was my choice for the wedding photos. I had seen his work on display at a bridal fair at Lynnwood Bridge Mall and what stood out for me in his work was how natural the people looked and his coffee table album! Wow! A real must have! l also thought he was reasonably priced and he does lots of extras like prints dvds and albums as gifts.
My co ordinator just happend to be the wonderful Pieter from Pheasant Hill another inhouse treat! He is really very good at what he does!
We had a wonderful 3 course buffet filled with scrumptious eats and all prepared by rhe talented culinary staff at Pheasant Hill.
I had a beautiful custom made cake. Named "The flight of love" and that was done by the cake bros.
A service provider to Pheasant Hill.
