The whole day was just incredible and so magical for both Deon and I!
Everyone warned us that the day will go past so quickly, so we tried our best to live in the moment and enjoyed every part of it together!
One of the memorable highlights of my day was how it started. Early hours of that morning I realised I was locked in my room because the key had broken off inside the lock. So I tried to wait till someone was awake before alarming them.
Deon fortunately sent me a message early that morning. After chatting for a while I mentioned to him that I was locked in my room and he called the owners, Kevin and Fern so they could help us.
A while later I was freed from my room and Deon came in to greet me, which traditionally is not aloud the morning before the wedding but our morning couldn't have started off better. I gave him his gift and he read my card. We had a moment and shared a tear together, I still feel emotional thinking back to that morning.
Deon planned a TOP secret honeymoon for us! So we had all our friends and family messaging and watching Facebook closely to see where he was taking me. The Tuesday morning after our wedding we jetted off to Thialand, where we stayed at Graceland Resort and Spa in Phuket. We had the most magical honeymoon together, felt like we were on cloud nine and in our own little bubble.
I felt like the most beautiful bride in my Mary Claire dress from Euro Bride. It was layered to look 3D with a white silk background and off white lace and pearls on top. My veil was a plain and simple with the most beautiful shimmer that glistened in the light.
Shereen Suleman, Salon Indulgence Estcourt did my hair half up, half down in soft curls with a gorgeous pearly slide clip. Angelene from Dio's Gracia Hair & Makeup Artistry did my makeup and made me feel beautiful and still myself with long lashes and natural nude lips.
For jewelry a wore my mom's pearl necklace, a pearl bracelet which she bought me to go with the necklace and dainty pearl drop earrings.
I loved my Melissa scented, soft nude pink wedding shoes, I later that evening changed my shoes to a pair of Melissa flats that were also scented in a soft nude pink peep toe.
My garter was from Little Lace in the most gorgeous blue and pink ribbon.
We got married at the beautiful venue Providence Country Weddings on the Midlands Meander in KZN, where we stayed with our bridesmaids and groomsmen.
Since I was a little girl I always said I wanted hydrangeas for my wedding and Deon loved lilies. So though they might be a very unusual combination it turned out so beautifully! We loved everything about our decor. We had beautiful bare wood tables with white tiffany chairs. Fern and Bonnie Fletcher from Wildflower Designs helped us a lot. They did the penny gum leaf and baby's breath runners. Deon and I made all the wooden boxes that went on the tables with glass jars which we filled with all the colors of my favorite flowers, the hydrangeas. Then in between we put a single elegant lily in a vase with tea light candles here and there on the tables. I also collected lots of Protea wine bottles which we had standing on the tables with a candle in.
The whole roof of the reception had fairy lights and for an extra glistening effect we had fairy lights in vases around the room.
The groom wore a navy suit and pastel blue tie and the groomsmen wore navy pants and navy ties. All wore tan brown accessories.
While getting ready we all wore gowns made by Little Lace. The bridesmaids wore off white bodysuits from YDE with dirty pink tulle skirts, which we had made by Gelique.
Beulah Haasbroek, from Dream Ceremonies gave a us a beautiful romantic wedding. She was wonderful. She made us feel so relaxed and comfortable, saying the kindest words for our future together. I lost my dad November 2016 and was very worried I might be too emotional during the ceremony but she made me feel so calm and made sure he was not forgotten.
A dear friend Jade Oliver, from Pure Moments Photography took all our amazing wedding Pics.
Fern from Providence Country Weddings did all our food and chocolate orange wedding cake. All our family and friends are still raving about it! Their food and presentation was just incredible and they always go out their way for the bridal couple!
Bonnie Fletcher, from Wildflower Designs made our save the dates and all the extra stationary bits for our special day. She also made my magnificent bouquet, as well as the bridesmaids bouquets and guys boutonnieres.
Two of our very close friends, Garreth and Lindy Le Roux played the guitar and keyboard for our ceremony in the forest. Lukas Dreyer, from Titan Rythms was our DJ for the evening.
