The Decor, my dress, bridesmaid's dresses and groomsmen's suits were my highlights.
We are still planning our honeymoon, perhaps next year.
I had a lace wig tied back and a touch of make - up, i went for a close to natural look. I chose a white ball gown with a bit of pearls and silver. My shoes were royal blue to match the groom's suit. Jewellery was a simple silver necklace with a cream white pearl and a silver wrist watch.
We got married at Newcastle the venue is called "Wedding Court" we had a garden matrimonial wedding and thereafter went inside the hall for reception. It was a one day wedding so most guests drove back home and some stayed behind at lodges and drove back to Johannesburg the following day.
Gym is part of my daily routine so when my wedding was months away I started exercising more just to get my stomach to be flat so that it looked good in my ball gown.
My decor was yellow and silver with a touch of royal blue therefore the draping was yellow and silver, the cutlery was silver and the serviettes were royal blue. The couch the bride and groom were seated on was silver. The decor was done inside the hall. I had a tree inside the hall on the stage which had blue lights flashing to bring out the royal blue colour. The center pieces were silver.
The Matrimonial session was conducted in the garden where the area was decorated in yellow and royal blue.
The groomsmen wore royal blue suits and light yellow shirts with yellow bow ties and brown shoes. The suits we bought at Oriental Plaza.
I had six bridesmaids, three wore yellow boob tube flare dresses and the other three wore royal blue dresses of the same design. I chose different colours to match my decor which was yellow and royal blue. All their shoes were a nude colour. The dresses we bought at Oriental Plaza.
We went to sign at court and Magistrate Dawrey was our marriage officer. On the day of the wedding we had a Pastor who did the matrimonial ceremony.
We hired a camera man who took photos and video. Due to time we had to take photos at the venue in the garden since it was also a lovely environment. We also got many pictures from our family and friends who captured all special moments using their cellphones.
We did not have a wedding planner, we did all planning during weekends with my husband and one of my bridesmaids was sometimes there to help me choose some of the things e.g. my wedding gown.
We hired taxis to transport guests from home to the venue. We also hired two Mercedes Benz to transport the bride, bridesmaids, groomsmen and flower girls.
Our cake was baked by a lady named Vennessa from Durban and the food was made by my two sisters in law who are professional Chefs at a hotel.
I designed and printed by own programmes and invitations at home. The design was googled.
There was a party at the reception after all the speeches. We came together (Bridesmaids and Groomsmen) and
co-ordinated a dance which we danced when we entered the hall. We hired a DJ to play music. We had a friend playing a guitar and singing as one of the entertainment items.
