We only got married on the 4th of November but managed t get some photos.
We had to plan our wedding in just 3 days for a wedding show, it was hectic but well worth it....
The highlights for me include:
- All decor was a surprise to even us, the wedding couple.
- My grandfather was able to walk me into the chapel, something that I always wanted
- Ralph's grandmother, even after a stroke and hip replacement were able to attend the wedding
- The whole wedding was fun and filled with love and laughter but our 1st dance to Grace Vanderwaal's beautiful thing was breath taking
- Some of out friends and family couldn't attend because of short notice, but still one friend wrote us a speech, delivered by one of the groomsmen and another sent a voice note all the way from Australia
Not yet, we have booked a trip for April 2018, with the short notice were a bit strapped for cash. We will go on a Thai trio holiday
I tried to go for a natural look, I cut my hair into a bob the day before the wedding which was a shock to my husband and all the guests but everyone loves it.
My make up was lovely, tones of purple and not heavy, I looked like a prettier version of myself rather that a different person.
For my wedding dress, I pictured a fit and flair style, when I tried on this wide, "Princessy" style dress, I just fell in love. Lubellos Bridal in Pretoria gave me a tip, she said, one can always wear a "skinny dress" tat show off your body but the type of dress that I wore can not be worn for any occasion and that if I choose it, I will look like no one. Plus, because of the comfortable dress, without the crazy long train I was able to wear plain white flat pumps.
I had no lingerie, jewellery or any accessories other than blue earrings, a garter and veil. Sometimes, less is more!
We got married in Midstream in Pretoria at a beautiful venue called Candle woods boutique venue. It was so close to home that our two guest from Tzaneen stayed at my house, Ass for the wedding party, we slept at the venue in the beautiful estate.
Like mentioned above, we found out on the Wednesday that we would get married on the Saturday?! But apart from that, we try to be healthy at all times, not just for events. I try to exercise at least 3 times a week, I clean my face twice a day and wear minimal make up. We only did our hair and nails the day before the wedding, that's about it.
Most of our decor were included in the venue hire. We have blue pastel flower arrangements on each table, with wooden under plates and lanterns to keep it natural. Tiffany chairs, no seat covers and plain silver table name holders were used.
We printed the table name and place settings ourselves, they were names of places were we met and that we and our friends would visit. The dj had colorful lights and it looked like a night club :-)
We gave all the ladies a wooden fan and the men received cigars as thank you gifts
The groom and his two groomsmen wore grey suits with visible pick stitching, we have been to four weddings this year and I must say, the looked like none of the other grooms, and it's a good thing. Browns shoes and suspenders were added to complete the look.
The bridesmaids were free to choose whatever they wanted, I gave them the colors, blue, purple and or floral prints and they ended up buying navy, knee length dresses at H&M and beige pumps with a gold strap. I also included them in the make up quote and they have brassy tones in their make up with their hair up.
Oordained minister and registered marriage officer Stefan Zeelie led the ceremony. Even though we didn't get to meet with him before hand, he made us feel welcome and at ease, he even took a selfie with us.
Lovina Claassen Photography took our wedding photo's, we went to school with her and she was able to squeeze us in at the last moment.

Nope, no official planners. Me, y husband and my wonderful bridesmaids did most of the wedding planning.
We had a cake made at Baker Boys and a florist, but that's about it.
The people from married in a flash were very helpful, they helped us to coordinate and set up the appointments.
The venue, chapel and our dressing rooms were all in the same estate but an family member borrowed us a red Jaguar F type coupe,, which helped to get rid of the nerves.
The food was part of the venue hire and was a buffet style, it tastes amazing.
Baker Boys in Pretoria baked us a semi naked, two teared cake. It had a nougat bottom and a ferrero rocher top layer. YUM!

We had a dj, he was included in the venue hire.
We only gave him a list of songs that should be played at different intervals and the type of music we liked.
We did not have time for lessons but has attended dance lessons a few years ago.
Baker boys is a boutique style bakery based in Pretoria east, supplying Pretoria and the Gauteng area, stretching to different game lodges and wedding venues in the vicinity.
