The wedding day started with a breakfast at my mom's house with my family. The last one I would have with them as a singleton. Then my husband sent a car to pick me up to take me to the hairdresser. The car was a BMW 7series. I was unaware that he had planned any cars for the wedding but he did. Number plate of the car.. "Bride to Be". I felt like a queen already. After hair was done, the car took me to the venue where the make up artist was waiting for me. Brides maids arrived with bottles of champers and a platter that my husband to me had prepared himself. Husband to be also wrote two letters, one addressed to me and the other to "The Bride Tribe". The letter to the bridesmaids had them all in tears. His love and appreciation for their time and support was undeniable. The special moments just didn't stop... walking into the church, seeing him cry, his speech, maid of honour speech and the first dance was so much more than I expected. I was overwhelmed, everyone's efforts really paid off on the day!
We left for honeymoon the very next day. We were off to Krabi in Thailand . Ive been to Thailand before I thought I knew what to expect. Krabi is so much different to Phuket and sharing the experience with my husband was unbelievable. Our days were spent lounging on the private beach sipping on cocktails. He arranged for a full spa day two days into the honeymoon and I must say that was the best spa day I've ever experienced! We spent a few nights exploring the night life of Krabi and we met wonderful people from around the world who were also on honeymoon (what are the chances..) and shared lots of stories, laughs and drinks with them.
The look I wanted for my wedding was classy and elegant. The wedding colours were rose gold and blush pink to give off a romantic feel. My hair was made in locks which was pinned up and a side swept fringe. I wore a veil but not over my face. More just to round off the dress. Lingerie I wore a satin and lace body suit to round off curves and hide all the lumps and bumps. Make up was very natural, I didn't want people not to recognise me on my wedding day so it was all very subtle. Accessories... I wore pearl and diamante earrings and bracelet and pearl necklace. My dress and shoes from Bride and Co. The dress was ivory coloured off the shoulder.
We got married and the picturesque venue Chez Charlene. The well kept gardens and lush lawns were the ideal place for our special day. None of our guests stayed over, most of them live close by.

I had no time for any regime leading up t my wedding so I kept doing what I did before the wedding. Lots of water, gym occasionally and facials. The only thing I did differently is made my hair grow longer than what I usually wear it and coloured it in a deep mahogany colour. The longer length made styling easier.
All my décor was part of the venue, we didn't have any extra things hired. Flowers were done my Lavendulla.
Groom wore a light grey Carducci suit with brown Florscheim shoes and brown Diesel belt. The groomsmen bought navy blue suits from Woolies. All of them wore shirts Polo shirts and blush pink ties and pocket scarves.
I had one instruction to my bridesmaids on the day I asked them to be part of the wedding party and that was "Look beautiful in what makes you comfortable" I gave them 5 ideas for dresses I liked and they had the option to choose the style. The dresses were all made in the same colour, blush pink satin and lace bodice but the styles differed from one to another. Their hair and make up were also all different as each girl has her own sense of style but they all wore their hair in some kind of spiral do. in the end it all worked perfectly together.
My husband's grandfather is a priest and from the start we wanted him to be part of the ceremony, however I am Catholic and had to be married by our priest. Father Richard April. So we were very lucky to have to officiants seal the deal for us.
our wedding photographer was Shalane (Shalane-Maré wedding & lifestyle photographer). She did our engagement shoot and we just clicked with her immediately. She was excellent, from helping the ladies getting dressed right down to the pictures she took. Our album was ready within 3 weeks and we have no regrets using her. We didn't have a photo booth but we did have a polaroid guestbook.
no we didn't have a planner, but hubby took over most of the planning since I was busy with exams and my attention was split between the two events.
The wedding cars we had:
Bride - BMW 7 series
Bridesmaids - BMW 5 series
Groosmen - BMW M3 Sport
venue took care of the catering with the executive Chef Derrick Brink, his selections were divine! Cake was a three tiered cake made by Baker Boys in Pretoria. We had three different flavours nougat&white chocolate, Turkish delight and carrot cake.
all our stationery was designed and printed by Pistachio Designs
We had a DJ and as a wedding gift from my godfather a guitarist and saxophonist who played all night, no dance lessons we taken. but I think we had enough moves to last us through the night! Lightning and smoke machine was included in our venue costs.
