So finally the day came and to be honest, nothing could have prepared me for the magical experience of our wedding day. Everything was incredible, from the weather to the venue, to the food and everything in between. This was an experience that me and my husband (YES ... that feels awesome to say !!!) will never forget. (These pictures were taken by our guests, official pictures to follow soon!)
One of the highlights of the day was the fact that the weather turned out to be perfect, even after the weather reports giving us a scare all week long! And then of coarse, the first dance .... the incredible feeling of being in the arms of your husband...OFFICIALLY!
We went to Bushmen's Neck Hotel for our honeymoon. Beautiful scenery, good food and lots of activities ... what more could we ask for?
Wedding look was classical with a rustic twist.
Hair and make up done by Nixon Make-up.
Wedding dress was a classic princess cut.
Shoes were flat pearl sandals.
Jewelry was chandelier earrings, a small tiara and a bracelet with a small shell which was a present received from my MOA.
We got married at Barker Manor in Kloof, KZN. They have a B&B service as well. Me and my bridesmaids as well as my mother stayed there the night before the wedding ensuring that we are up and ready for the early hair and make up call time.
Barker Manor has a rustic feel to it. However the groom (my new Hubby) loves surfing and therefore we brought a little beach into the rustic mix with sea blue and green table overlays decorated with some sea shells and fresh flowers. To top it off was small candles in rustic candle holders which created a warm and mystical feel to the evening.
The groom and groomsmen wore rented suites in a dark grey with a turquoise tie and instead of a button hole, they wore a turquoise painted star-fish on their jacket.
The bridesmaids' dresses were made by Toujours Wedding Boutique. The dresses were an elegant long slight flared dress with a lace belt in the shape of shells.
The photo magic man of the day was non other than Stuart Dods!
The catering was done by Rania from Nosh Catering. The wedding cake was made by Kristen from Devlish Designer Cakes and Cupcakes.
The first dance was kept simple and choreographed by the myself and my husband. The party was run by our DJ Wynand Laatz from Local Bru.
Barker Manor is a country-chic wedding venue located amongst the picturesque trees of Old Main Road, Kloof KwaZulu Natal.
