The most special highlight of all, I married my best friend sharing the day with our closest and dearest family and friends.
Your wedding day is filled with so many magical moments, I cannot choose specifics, as every second you breathe in on that day is so overwhelming with so much love, joy, love and contentment.
As I woke up as Miss Richardson and closed my eyes as Mrs Swiegers....pure perfection.
Offcourse ;). This is one of the best holidays you will ever have. You and your husband taking one of the first steps in your new adventure as hubby and wifey. Oh, the memories you create.
We went to paradise, Maldives.
I wanted to be classic from the start. Its the one day, you will forever look back on, my look had to be timeless and remain classic 20 years from now. My dress was pure silk from DeLaVida.
Martie Olivier :) - My hair very naturally swept back in a low bun with 2 white roses, my grandfather was a rose farmer, I had to have my Oupie there with me on that day and 2 classic small pearl earrings and a fine pearl bracelet from my mom. When we played with the roses and the dress on a fitting, we all called it a classic spanish look and that is where also decided a dark red lip is a must with a natural make up look.You still need to look like you on the day but with that glow.
We got married in Caledon at Die Woud. A breath of fresh air venue. Majority of our guests were from Gauteng, they all spent the night in the most beautiful guesthouses in Caledon and Greyton.
Die Woud is in perfect harmony with nature nestled between established oak trees and majestically tall wattle forests.
To be honest, I had none. I still had to be..me. I didnt go on any special diet or treatments. I still had my occasional facial, my glass of vino and I still enjoyed life as I did before.
Once again, timeless and classic. I love candle light, candles to me are always romantic, calming, beautiful and just defines a celebration. I had 165 candles in beautiful vintage gold candelabras on 2 long tables. I had crisp linen runners with greenery and touches of white flowers and a pop of delft in between. Die Woud comes with beautiful heavy, raw wooden tables accompanied with ghost chairs, so that you dont take away from the forest and its natural beauty.
On the outside for my leisure area, I had crystal chandeliers hanging from the trees, with white and wooded seating furniture, delft vases here and there. My bouquet had to link to our rose farm, I had fresh, large white garden roses, the beauty of this bouquet, it had to be imperfect, it had to look like it was picked from the garden, quickly bunched together, it was stunning!
Lucky me, my hubby is so relaxed and easy. We walked into Zara and left within 10 minutes with his entire suit, if only my shopping was as quick ;). He wore a dark navy suit with pocket hankie (David Beckham style is always a good idea), white shirt with a white and blue checkered tie. Something different and on point. His groomsmen, wore dark navy pants, white shirts and navy ties. Simplistic.
Nothing is more special than family on the day, I spent the morning with my whole family. Just us, you cannot have more precious moments like this. My tribe, my stunning sister, my little niece and nephew. I wanted my sister in white as well, but we walked into Forever New and saw a beautiful champagne silk dress, which complimented mine so well and little Nika wore a beautiful white fairy princess dress, that she could twirl in the whole day. Dashing Jaun, my nephew, loves bowties, this little cutie kept it cool, with all stars, chino, white shirt and his iconic bowtie.
Alison Hayward is the best. She spoke from the heart, about life, love, adventures, the beauty of it all in your marriage and the journey that lies ahead. I wouldnt have changed a word.
He is Visual Photography and Orpen Film Co...These guys are so professional, yet so homey. They do their work without you even knowing they there. They capture natural moments, no posing or looking at the camera. They capture the day as you enjoy it just they way it should be. Pure, pure perfection!
A wedding planner is your lifesaver. Anneke from AnnaH is the best ever. I wanted to enjoy my day and didnt need to worry about a single thing and I didnt. I had my vision and Anneke made it happen with even more magic. I saw everything for the first time the time as my guests...flawless.
Once again...best ever. My family in my dad's Pajero ;). As we all left from the same house, we all squeeshed in 2 cars and off we went. How special and fun, we laughed all the way there!
Die Woud's chef is out of this world, she made sure my entire day was sorted. I didnt want to have a cake, I had a wedding cake table, with different cakes and pavlovas. It was stunning and worked so well, as guests could help themselves at anytime.
As you have read, we are easy going, our company designer Giselle, played around on a few ideas and we loved it, off the invites went. via mail.
No dancelessons here, we wanted to the day to be natural and whatever happens, happens. I love dancing, my hubby has a slight case of 2 left feet ;) but he pulled it off and amazed me on our wedding dance! The party was amazing, we danced until 2am, and enjoyed every happy step.
