11 November 2017, our wedding day was the best day of our lives, everything was so perfect and even better than we dreamed about. But if I had to choose my absolute favourite part of our wedding day it would be seeing my wife for the first time in the chapel. She wears her heart on her sleeve and I could see the love and admiration she has for me. It was such a great feeling walking down the isle towards her and feeling unconditionally loved. She had the absolute best reaction and I will cherish it in my heart forever.
I married the love of my life, my soul mate, my best friend and the woman I will spend the rest of my life with – Yvonne Strydom.
Something surreal happened. While standing at the alter and looking into my wife’s eyes, I realised just how incredible it all was. We stood in front of each other and committed ourselves to one another for the rest of our lives. We told each other how much we loved each other and how much we meant to each other. We cried and laughed and hugged and kissed. We made it official. We got married.
That is my MOST memorable moment.
I fell in love with the Tamela dress at GF Bridal Couture. This dress was so stunning and elegant and something special. It ticked all my boxes and made me feel like an elegant bride. I knew it was the one as I did not want to take it off :), my mother also loved it. The detail in the lace was breathtaking as it was soft with roses and see-through sequence that added a little shimmer. The sweetheart neckline was exactly what I wanted and the oval train was stunning and something unique. The low back was spectacular, I loved this most about my wedding dress. My wedding dress was even better than I dreamed of and is timeless. I wanted an elegant romantic bridal look, pin up hair with a beautiful pearl necklace and soft elegant makeup to complement my skin.
We got married at Thabong Wedding Venue and Guest House in Dennie Road and our guests stayed over at the Thabong Guest House.
We wanted a simple comfortable look for our Bridesmaids. It was a beautiful short grey cocktail dress with lace at the top, a soft and elegant look.
Louis Vosloo from Beth Haram Ministries. He gave us the most beautiful message as newlyweds.
Lizb Photography & Big G captured the special details and magical moments for our big day. Having a beautiful wedding day is a privilege but having memories to cherish is PRICELESS.
My mother, my rock and pillar was our wedding planner. Everything that I have ever dreamed about became a reality.
My mother made our wedding cake. It was a four teer cake, with close to 500 self—made roses covering the half of the cake with a lace effect around each teer.
Well.. this is quite a story. Me being an Afrikaans girl and my wife a English girl, I had to put on my Boere shoes to teach her how to Skokie. After a feeeeeeewwww months of practice, barley any toe nails left she got the hang of it ;).
