That incredible moment when our eyes met as I was coming down the aisle.
Our first dances as husband and wife was another incredible moment that I wish I could relive.
We did go on honeymoon.
My very secretive husband managed to keep the honeymoon destination a secret until the Sunday morning after the wedding when we started our journey.
We first drove to Johannesburg stopping over in Parys for one night, then flew to Zanzibar for an incredible 7 day breakaway.
I went for a down to earth, rustic look.
My wedding dress was champagne colored, layered with net and ligth cream lace made by Eulogeo Zeloo Couture.
I wore pearl accessories and cowgirl boots by Westernboots SA.
My make-up were very natural with my hair in a soft curly up-do with wax flowers in it.
We got married under a gazebo next to the Modderrivier on Memory Fields Guest Farm. (The same place we go engaged a year earlier.)
The reception was held at the reception hall at the same venue.
Some of our guests stayed over at the venue and the others stayed at a neighboring game farm.
I stuck to my usual beauty regime at my favourite salon, Finishing Touch, having IPL laser, sunbed sessions and getting my nails done.
I added facials to the schedule, but had them well in advanced.
I also got highlights from Scissor Talk hair dressers but tried to keep the length of my hair as best possible.
We had a DIY wedding with minimally rented elements. The things we did rent was for decor use and was rented from the venue itself.
The décor was rustic themed using soft pink green and lots of wooden elements.
The flowers were mainly pink proteas and roses with succulents and a lot of greenery in different shades.
With that we used a lot of candles, oil lamps and fairy lights to create a soft lighting atmosphere.
The groom wore a stone suit by Eurosuit with a white shirt and a tan brown leather belt, tie and shoes.
The groomsmen wore camel Chino's with white shirts and tan brown belts, suspenders and bow ties.
Juandré's best man made all the leather accessories by hand.
My bridesmaids wore full length, dusty pink dresses with soft pink lace on the bodes. All the dresses were the same colour, but I allowed every girl to pick her own style.
Juandré's mom from Z4You klere reeks made all the dresses for us.
The special moments at our wedding were captured by Marleen and Rojeanne from Stroopsoet.Fotografie. They really pride themselves in capturing moments as they happen rather then trying to create them, which made our whole bride and groom session a quality time session of having fun together rather than working to pose for nice photos. Carel from 1988 Films captured our day on video.
I did not have a wedding planner but rather a DIY wedding.
On the day of the wedding the venue's coordinator assisted with keeping everything on track.
As our ceremony and reception was on the same farm and so close together, we had a donkey cart to move between the two parts of the venue. It also fitted into the rustic theme of the wedding.
We had an amazing three tiered cake bake by Wilhelmina Thirion Garcao from Mudcake in Bloemfontein. The first was vanilla with white chocolate icing, the second was red velvet with cream cheese icing and the third was chocolate mousse cake.
The party at the wedding was great fun and we danced late into the night.
We took dance lessons for our first dance, just to make sure we wouldn't be too stressed and forget to enjoy it. Eventually the dance was an amazing and memorable moment.
We had a local DJ from Kimberley play. He read the guests very well and everyone really enjoyed the party.
