The entire day was so incredibly special with close friends and family in attendance. It was relatively small and intimate and included my two daughters and baby boy. The all played a role in the ceremony which really made it extra special.
The food, the speeches, the decor, the musicians and music all added to the ambiance and authenticity of the day.
It was quite possibly one of the best days ever!
We havent had a honeymoon as of yet, but plan on doing something later in the year. We did manage to escape to St Francis bay for 12 days after the wedding for some relaxing time.
I wanted to keep my entire look as simple and classic as possible. I wanted a classic dress, something that one of my daughters could possibly wear one day with a few alterations. It was from Anna Georgina Bridal, along with my lace mantilla. The makeup was natural with a slight smoky eye and neutral lips (Renee De Witt makeup artistry). My hair was loose with some soft, basic curls to soften my face and jawline (Fiona Wadell Gorgeous2Go). I wore an old pair of shoes...but a beautiful classic pair from Aldo. My earrings were a gift from my father - topaz(my birthstone) set in white gold with diamonds along with my necklace.
My beautiful lace garter was made by my best friend and bridesmaid, Linda Rautenbach (Stitch and Steel).
We had our ceremony and reception at a guesthouse in Fresnaye, Cape Town, called "Moondance".
Guests were able to go home after, and we stayed overnight in the luxury suite.
There was nothing to out of the ordinary..I just kept up my general fitness and yoga routine, got a mani and pedi and highlights.
Anna marcelle weddings (www.annamarcelleweddings.com) did a brilliant job at helping plan and orchestrate the entire day. Heike Hayward from fleur le cordieur (www.fleurlecordeur.co.za) organised and created art with the flowers which were diverse yet still classic ! The entire feel was 'french rural' - A long, wooden bench for the guests to sit at, table decorated with flowers, lanterns and candles. The table was positioned in a garden framed with olive trees and this gave the effect of an olive grove.Fairy lights were dispersed through the branches. There were sofas and cushioned couches in those areas of space underutilised and guests could relax and unwind whilst sipping on cocktails. The beautiful champagne fountain added to the ambiance and was a highlight for me ! Zest caterers provided the food which was out of this world!
The Groom wore a suit that we purchased in London at TM Lewin. It was accessorised by a wonderful waistcoat and tie from "Frank Bespoke" ( www.frankbespoke.co.za).
The groomsmen wore their own tailored suits.
The bridemaids wore elegant, classic, blush coloured dresses from YDE. We drew inspiration from 'grace loves lace".
The flower girls wore blush coloured dresses from ZARA kids and my little boy wore a gorgeous outfit from H&M accessorised with a waistcoat and bowtie from Frank Bespoke.
Robert Steiner was our marriage officiant.
Garreth Barclay (www.garrethbarclay.com) took our beautiful photos along with snaps taken by our wonderful guests.
Yes, we used Anna Guardiascone from Anna Marcelle weddings (www.annamarcelleweddings.com). She took care of everything!
Guest made their own way to the venue and we used the Uber service to help transport babies and staff and help.
Zest caterers were amazing with our food and Lionheart made our amazing cake.
The party was amazing. We had an acoustic duo (The larter brothers) who played pre and post ceremony and then live DJ (Dj Yaron) who played at the party.
We took one informal dance lesson just to sharpen our moves and that was all.
