Everything about our day was absolutely perfect! The most memorable moment was definitely the wedding ceremony... Nothing can beat that moment the chapel doors open...Definitely the BEST moment of the day! One that is difficult to describe with words...
We went to Mauritius... Our hotel was amazing!! We enjoyed every moment of it... We relaxed and ate WAY TOO MUCH! We felt like Oros men when we came back :)
I wanted to make sure that my look was as natural as possible... It was important to still look like and be ME! My style was comfortable, 'flowy' with detailed fine finishes.
My dress was made by Gerrit Pienaar. He also made my matric farewell dress. He truly captured my personality in my wedding dress as he knows me well. My hair and make-up was done by talented locals in Parys. My look was finished off with accessories from Swarovski and Sterns.
I bought my shoes before anything else.. It was love at first sight ;)

We got married at Vintage Yard Wedding Venue just outside Parys with a stunning view overlooking the Vaal river...
We wanted a weekend wedding so had a braai on the Friday night at the accommodation next to the venue. There was limited accommodation available on the venue, but most of our guest used the opportunity as a getaway-weekend and stayed over in Parys where they could explore all the lovely restaurants and antique shops in town.
I did not change a lot to my normal routine.. I wanted to make sure that I can sustain it after the wedding day :) I added a few extras to the usual - focused on exercising more often, eating healthy (but still had a piece of cake or chocolate when I felt like it) and visited the dermatologist to ensure a healthy facial beauty regime.
Our colour was earthy pastels and we went for a vintage chic style. Our main flower was the succulent - my favourite! The rest of the decisions I left in the capable hands of Catharina Carolina who made sure that our day was breathtaking!
Most of the décor elements came out of our house, but we also hired décor from Moi Décor Hire and Catharina Carolina.
My husband was handsomely dressed in a tailored suit from Tailor on Broadway and Aldo shoes.
We bought the groomsmen's outfits at Woolworths, Truworths and Old Khaki.
Their looks were finished off with belts from Eden & Co.
My bridesmaids wore dresses designed and made by Silver Swallow Designs. They wore Blu Betty Georgina shoes with their dresses.
We were married by a family friend of my husband's. He knew Wicus since he was a little boy! What a special memory to share with someone so dear to us.
The amazing Picture Me & U and First Kiss were responsible for capturing all our special moments...
White Lace Events helped with organizing everything beforehand.. Catharina Carolina were the on-the day heroes who made sure that all my dreams turned into reality and that all ran smoothly..
My cousin drived us where we wanted to go with his dad's Mercedes :)
Vintage Yard's team made the food! It was sooo delicious!!
My dear friend (also bridesmaid) Retha from En Bonne Santé baked our wedding cake as a wedding gift. It had three delicious layers: Turkish delight, carrot and lemon.
Our invites was made by What U See.. I designed all the other on the day stationary myself :)
Our main goal for the party is to JUST ENJOY celebrating our love with our family and friends!! We did not take special dance lessons for our first dance - we just winged it! ;) AJR Audio made sure that everyone danced their socks off that night!
