Our day was perfect. It started raining the Friday evening and I knew it was going to be a wet but blessed day. Every moment was memorable, from the moment I got in the car to the ceremony till the very last song the DJ played. Seeing all our nearest and dearest laughing, chatting and dancing the night away made my heart warm. And knowing after that day I will walk with my best friend by my side was the best feeling. It was truly a memorable day not even missed steps with our first dance or the power going out could have made it a bad day.
we had a 4-day honeymoon and we went to Magoebaskloof.
I am a plain jane and having to wear makeup and jewellery was a big deal for me. I went for a natural look with my makeup and an upstyle for my hair. My dress had a plain tulle skirt and lace detail at the bodice. I wore beige pump wedges with sequin detail. For jewellery I wore a pearl bracelet and earrings with rose gold detail.
We got married at Dante Deo, between Mokopane and Naboomspruit. The venue accommodated 20 of our guests, other guests slept close by at different guesthouses.
I was quite relaxed and did not want to try new things with my skin. My maid of honour and I jogged every afternoon to keep in shape.
Our colours were blush pink, navy blue and khaki. We had khaki overlays on a white cloth with navy lace runners. As a centrepiece we had a small rustic cage with a burning candle inside. Around the cage was greenery with gyp, pink daisies and blush roses.
We had fairy lights draped from the roof.
The groom wore a navy blue suit with a light blue shirt and navy tie. The groomsmen wore khaki pants with a white shirt, navy bow tie and suspenders.
My bridesmaids wore navy and blush pink, knee length dresses with lace detail at the top.
Our marriage officer was Renier Horne.
Our photographers were Michelle and Cornel from Leef Fotografie, they went out of their way to take the best photos through the wind and the rain. They had a photo corner with props where guests had lots of fun.
My coordinator was Rinandia Schoeman.
We planned on using an Audi as our wedding car but at the end we used a Fortuner to get through all the water and mud.
Our delicious menu was prepared by Nan Schoeman from Spiteful Treats.
Our beautiful wedding was baked by Sinanda from Pink Elly.
My husband and I did it together.
Our sound and lightning was done by our DJ's from Play on Mobile Disco. They definitely blew life in our party with their positive energy. We did not take dance lessons but with the help of a smoke machine and good lightning, we looked like pro's.
