For as long as we can remember, we had it GOOD right from the start. We fell in LOVE and our dreams were born. So we started to build our future together.....
I had started working at the same company he had been for the last 9 years, Him being in the technical department and Myself being a project manager.
During the first week, I was taken on an introduction tour of the offices and different teams that I would have to work with and as I was walking to the technical department, our eyes met, I was shy and didn't say much...at first, Jacques first words to me were..."Harrrrrooooooo" and a rainbow wave gesture. I nearly died, It felt like one of those high school moments where your crush says Hi to you in passing......my heart was racing and I just had to walk away before saying something dumb.
Fast forward a few months, we both had a love for Coffee. Everyday we would meet with other colleagues downstairs in the courtyard and share in light banter and then FINALLY, I needed his help on a project, We started chatting over email, more and more, Until one faithful day where Jacques had told me about a girl he had met and that he went on a "sort of date with"....To say that I was upset was an understatement (I did not think he noticed but alas he did, Italians have a way not to hide emotions), that's where he tweaked on that I liked him...It was rather funny as he now had affirmation that I was interested.
It took him a few weeks, but being the gentleman that he is, officially asked me out. The words uttered "Would you go steady with me?" My immediate response was heck YES!
I had FINALLY found my lid! we shared in so many adventures together and probably always will.
With out skipping a beat, we started planning our future together...to the point where I had started planning a wedding and he had not even asked me yet...Our friends thought we where nuts!
I am truly blessed to have met the man of my dreams, I have been blessed with a proper gentleman who is faithful, courteous and ever loving. He makes my soul laugh and fills me with butterflies every time I see him.
He has supported me through my many Ideas, my upside down and inside out times, He has been my biggest fighter though my battle with cancer, I am in absolute awe of this person and I am so humbly blessed to have met him and now call him my husband!
The biggest highlight of our wedding was that it was my Birthday! we decided to do this, to turn a sad day into one that will forever be a happy day.
The whole day was memorable, From the arrival of my bridesmaids who faffed around me, the handsome groomsmen in their kilts,my mom taking charge of all that needed to be done, THE PHOTOGRAPHER...oh my, was Ducksoup productions EPIC! The bagpipes playing as we where getting dressed, to the message I got from my brother all the way from Canada (yes I balled my eyes out), Our first dance....I swooned over my new husband and then to top it off the message my two beautiful babies gave us, Matt and Kayla got up to the podium and delivered the most beautiful message to us of how they are so proud to have a dad that loves, cares and supports them in every way possible...even over rules me sometimes.
The amount of love and support from our nearest and dearest and how 2 families become one! Best day EVER!!!
We had the most wonderful honeymoon, we went to Thailand and Malaysia, words cannot describe how beautiful it was. We met some very interesting people, made some new friends and saw the most amazing things... The rest, well I can leave to your imagination. It is a honeymoon after all
