Every single moment of our wedding day was beyond special and a childhood dream came true, but the parts that stand out every so slightly more is firstly the moment my dad came to get me, just before I had to walk down to meet the love of my love in the chapel, with his eyes slightly teary and telling me I look beautiful was such a special moment and one I will cherish forever.
Then of course walking down on my dad's arm to meet my husband who had the biggest smile on his face, bigger that I have ever seen. That smile said everything and more than I could have ever imagined and touched my heart deeply. And then course the moment that our pastor pronounced us as husband and wife was just magical.
Every part of our wedding was so much more than we ever could have wanted, our very own fairytale wedding day filled with so much joy, laughter and loads of love.
We were lucky enough to travel to the exquisite island of Zanzibar for our honeymoon. There were we could just relax and soak up all the wonderful memories of our wedding day and enjoy the breathtaking views that this paradise has to offer. The photos that we saw of Zanzibar did not disappoint.
We enjoyed 7 magical days filled with so much local food, lovey cocktails, spectacular views and a very special private beach dinner on my birthday.
I have always loved lace wedding dresses! There is just something about these dresses that are different to all other dresses for me. I love the softness, classy, elegant and romantic look they portray. Therefore it came as no surprise when I immediately loved my Maggie Sottero dress that ended up being my dress at Eve's Bridal.
I went for a soft and elegant look with my dress that had two layers of allover embroidered lace in a fit and flare style over Delustered Satin. I added three quoter lace sleeves to finish off the soft romantic look I wanted.
For make up I wanted a very soft and natural look, and my fantastic wedding day make up artist Mariette from Blusch make up did a lovey job. It was exactly what I imagined and so much more.
For accessories I went with less is more, I had blush block heel wedding shoes from Woolworths, pearl and diamante earrings from Lovisa and I borrowed a bracelet from my sister.
All of these elements brought my desired soft and romantic look together beautifully.
We got married at the breathtakingly beautiful Belair Estate in Paarl. From the first moment that we saw this venue we knew that it was perfect and exactly what we wanted.
Some of our guests stayed over at the guest house on the venue.
I did not ready have a special bridal beauty regime I just continued using my now husbands parents skin products that they produce themselves in the Easter Cape. I started using these products shortly after my husband and I started dating and I have not used any other products since. I absolutely love these products.
I make use of their Miracle Comfrey soap to wash my face with twice a day.
Then I use their second range El Ami's nourishing cream in the morning and Miracle Comfrey's gel in the evenings before bed time.
Our colour scheme for our wedding was white and grey and then we brought in greenery with our floral elements. I wanted a simplistic modern but yet romantic look for our wedding decor.
To achieve this we had a white cotton table runner, two greenery floral arrangements per table that included some beautiful white flowers in between with glass candle holders and white candles. The look was then finished off with glass under-plates, a white cotton napkin and a tented place card with the guests name in grey.
I designed all our wedding stationery myself as I am a graphic designer and worked for the amazing Secret Diary where
I had all my designed produced by our extremely talented team.
My husband bought his gorgeous light blue suite form Woolworths SA, along with his white shirt, shoes and grey tie. His only groomsman was his brother and he hired a stunning navy suite in Stellenbosch.
I wanted to keep my bridal party small and therefore I only had my sister as a bridesmaid. She wore a beautiful light grey flowy dress form Bride & Co in Cape Town. It was so pretty and suited her perfectly.
Our marriage officer was our church paster, Paster Ludwig Joubert form CRC Stellenbosch. We could not have wished for a more beautiful and special ceremony.
We had the very talented Chantall Marshall capture our special day for us, it was such a honour having her as our photographer. I went to high school with Chantall and she is one of the sweetest people you will ever meet. From the moment I saw her amazing work after school, I knew that one day she would capture my special day. Her soft and natural approach to her work is what caught my eye immediately.
We had the lovely ladies from Liefkraal, Marli Nel and her sister Sune, as our on the day coordinators. They took over all arrangements from me two weeks before our big day. They were absolutely amazing and we would have never been able to pull of our fairytale wedding day without their help.
We luckily did not need any wedding transport. I got ready on the venue and our ceremony and reception was all walking distance from one another.
Our wedding catering was done by my mom's cousin, Henzee Coetzee, from Tranquility Catering. We could not have been more happy with the food, everything was delicious! From our pre-drinks cheese and wine snacks to our fantastic buffet main course. The food was definitely another highlight of our wedding.
Our wedding cake was made by the wonderful Wade from Cakes by Wade. It was a 4 tier white butter-icing wedding cake consisting of 2 flavours namely lemon and poppy seed and vanilla. Our cake was finished off with some fresh flowers and greenery from our wedding flowers. It was simplistic but o-so-elegant and fitted in perfectly with our wedding look and feel.
As I am a graphic designer myself and worked for the wonderful Secret Diary, I designed my own wedding invitations and stationery and had all items printed and produced by our talented team. Our stationery was simplistic, modern and elegant.

Our reception was so much fun, all our guests had a blast and we received so many compliments of how much fun they had at our wedding. We had the talented Johan Lochner, DJ Loggie as our DJ for our wedding and everyone loved the music he played and danced the night away.
For our first dance we sort of "winged" it as neither me or my husband are great dancers... I would definitely say that he is a better dancer than me, but it worked out well. We (or should I say I) did however eagerly asked our guests to join us on the dance floor after we danced for a couple of minutes.
