Well, like every bride - excited beyond any other moment, filled with super excited butterflies, but our wedding was like no other. Our story spread over Facebook due to the challenge we had to face at the last minute.
We had booked and paid for a venue at the last minute only to find out that the gentleman whom showed us around was only renting the property and had disappeared. We were left at the very last minute with no venue. In a panic, in tears - we had family coming from overseas so we could not cancel the wedding.
With the help of venues, caring kindhearted folks on Facebook, we eventually found a last minute venue that just had to soot the budget we had left.
Our theme just had to suite the new venue - so we set up the night before and hoped for the best the next day.
At the end of the day I walked down that isle with love in my heart, my husband in tears, which of course is every brides dream.
Our super hero wedding ended in a super success as everyone enjoyed themselves, enjoyed the games, the food and the company.
We managed with what we had and still the day was a huge success. I get to spend the rest of my life with the man I love and with our stunning two daughters.
Here's to my pink milkshake drinking loverboy.
Unfortunately not.
Our wedding was superhero bases with a touch of traditional elegant wedding.
We had imported superhero candy bowel holders from Rubies, where we had put the love pizza cutter - thank you gifts in.
I had a princess cut wedding dress with lace flowers on on the top half.
My shoes... Well I had white tekkies with 4 different color stars on to suite the super hero theme.
Elegant diamond studded jewelry, but nothing could match up to the ring on my wedding finger.
Well what a surprise having to find a venue at the last minute. We ended up getting married at The Italian Club in Boksburg.
The manager was well spoken and very caring.
With our superhero theme at mind we had Marvel Candy Bowel Holders where the thank you gifts were kept in for the guests.
Each table had a different super hero.
For the table place mats I had hand made different color place mats for each person at the table.
When the place mats were turned over there was paper games like words search for the guests to play, which turned out to be quite fun.
On each plate was a sparkler pegged to a black serviette.
The kids tables had lucky packets with a super hero picture attached to it.
Each table had a pack of crayons for the guests to complete their paper games.
On our stage we had white painted purity jars with ranking red roses around and flowing through them with candles inside.
Every table also had their champagne bottles, alcoholic and non.
But the decor was more a success with the guests enjoying the day with us.
Sticking to the theme we had the groom and his groomsmen's shirts made so that the logo of the superhero would stand out. To keep it traditional we had black tux jackets put on. To keep relaxed each gentleman had a nice jean on. And to keep the wedding spunky they wore masks suiting their super hero logo.
Elegant but yet batsy my bridesmaids wore black and silver dresses and skirts.
Spiderman
I start up photographer captured our wedding day.
Your wedding day is all about new beginnings, why not give someone who had talent a chance to show theirs.
No, I did everything myself.
Fast and furious, I had my maid of honor drive me, crazy.
My grandmother handmade all the platters.
The cakes were created by my husbands best friends wife who has previously done wedding cakes. Delicious!
It was our dessert. All the guests went back for seconds.
Purchased and hand made it
I created the play list for each important moment of the wedding and the DJ played music during the remaining hours.
I walked down a song called the book of love with my maid of honor.
My daughters and my other two bridesmaids walked down paw patrol to make the kids feel at ease which was adorable to the guests.
The groom and groomsmen walk down AC DC Highway to hell.
There were certain songs for certain games hosted.
