We had a beautiful church ceremony followed by a layed back morning brunch reception. We didn't do the traditional dance floor and party theme, instead we did almost no formalities so that friends and family could just enjoy each others company. We also hired giant lawn games for the guests wanting to enjoy their inner child. All our friends are still talking about how much they loved the wedding because it was so different to others they have been to.
Yes, we went to Mauritius on an all-inclusive package to the Le Mauricia Beachcomber resort. We booked our honeymoon through Pentravel and was on the plane ready to go at 6am the Sunday morning.
My wedding dress was made by Elouise Roode Bridal and it is a two piece where I could take the long skirt off and have a mini dress diring parts of the wedding. Hair and makeup was done by the lovely Marilese Bruwer and her team. All the other parts like shoes, earrings and so on I just bought at regular stores where I found what I wanted. I didn't go with the traditional something old, something borrowed, something new, something blue.
The ceremony was held at the Dutch Reformed Church in Durbanville (moederkerk) and the reception was at Bloemendal Wine Estate Bon Amis venue. The bridal party stayed over at the D'aria wine estate cottages from the Friday evening.
We didn't really have a set theme for the wedding but if I had to make one up I would say the theme was around the beautiful succulents we used throughout the wedding. We had succulents in all the bouquets and table centre pieces and we also gave each guest a little one as a favour. My uncle made all the wooden decor like the placemats and the flower holders. My aunt did all the flower arrangements. The hasgtag board, superman caketopper and wooden ring holder was made by Kaalvoetkind Ontwerp. The favours me and my bridesmaids put together and the welcome board I painted with stensils. All the decor was mostly our vision that everyone put together for us.
Our groomsmen wore hired charcoal coloured suits from Mr Suit Hire with navy blue ties to suit the groom's suit which was bought at Woolworths.
I was planning on getting infinity dresses for my bridesmaids but then Elouise my dressmaker showed me all her for hire dresses that she wanted to sell. They were also similar to infinity dresses so all my bridemaids had different colour dresses and each was also differently styled.
My husband's uncle married us - Mr Charles Kadalie
I found our photographer at the Winelands wedding expo held at Spier in 2016. I didn't think much of anyones work at the expo because I wanted to go through everyones work at home. The second I saw Ever Ever Photography's logo on the website I had to look at their work. Astrid has a good eye for beautiful things and brings that out in her photos.
Our cake and doughnuts was made by Samantha from Desiree Homemade Catering. These looked and tasted amazing. Poeple are still talking about it! Brunch and drinks was catered for by venue and everyone said how lovely the food was.
I designed our laser engraved wooden wedding invites and got them done at Studio22 in Cape Town.
We had a layed back morning brunch wedding. We didn't do the traditional dance floor and party but one of our friends gave us the gift of his DJ services. We hired giant lawn games from Mr.and Mrs Wedding Games for the guest wanting to have more fun. All our friends are still talking about how much they loved the wedding because it was so different to others they have been to. It was just a bummer that it was so hot that morning!
Mr & Mrs M provide a fantastic entertainment service for wedding guests during that rather awkward "Photo-Hour". It's fun, affordable and very classy!
