The whole day was full of highlights and memorable moments. Having our family and friends there to share the celebrations with us, the kids enjoying the jumping castle, the parents enjoying our wedding thanks to the child minders, delicious food, our stunning wedding cake, going on a game drive with our photographers.
It was important to me and Michael that I still look like me on our wedding day.
My hair and makeup was done by Justen Blignaut. He made me feel like a celebrity.
My wedding dress was made by Daniele Naude from Daniele Concepts and Mariana Kotze Marais did all the embroidery work on my dress.
Both Michael and I had our Dr Martens on as our wedding shoes. They were very comfortable.
My jewellery was made by Ina Van Wyk from IV Creations.
We got married at Ngata Safari Lodge in the Dinokeng Game Reserve. Some of our family and friends spend the whole weekend with us at Ngata. That made our wedding weekend extra special.
I started walking with friends in the afternoon, after work. We also started doing parkrun on Saturdays.
Two days before the wedding me, my mom, my now mother-in-law and my flower girl went to Bien-Etre to get spoiled for the whole day. Thanks to Moira my nails looked beautiful.
Having fresh flowers at our wedding was non negotiable. The flower market at the Mall@Reds, in Centurion, did a superb job at supplying the flowers for our wedding and coming to the venue to do setup. The table flowers were in Consol bottles, that we got thanks to my Grandmother, who always made preserves.
We had a rustic wedding, everything was burlap and wood. Our venue gave us their beautiful wood tables to use. Our tables was not numbered, but named after WWII airplanes.
We had a morning wedding, so no lighting was required. The kids were also able to enjoy our wedding, thanks to the jumping castle and their activity packs.
Michael's best-man was his son. They dressed the same, with the only difference being their shoes and cuff-links.
My sister was my bridesmaid. Her clothes were also made by Daniele Naude from Daniele Concepts.
Gerhard Le Roux from We Tie the Knot was our marriage officer. We chose to have a spiritual wedding. The ceremony was in both Afrikaans and English.
Our stunning photos were taken by Jaco and Ester from IJ Worx Photography. We will always be using them as our photographers for all our future special moments.
Our DJ, Simply Sound, had a photo booth as part of their package. Our guests were able to enjoy the photo booth for a few hours.
We knew what we wanted for our wedding day, we were our own wedding planners.
Just like at my sisters wedding nine years ago, my Grandfathers car, was my wedding car.
Ngata Safari Lodge prepared the most delicious food for our wedding and the whole weekend we were there. They also made our divine wedding cake.
We designed our own stationery and printed it.
Simply Soundz was responsible for all our music. Our song were Annie's song by John Denver.
