1. When I first saw my husband as I walked into the church. I could see so much appreciation and love.
2. After we were all gathered in church it started raining.
3. Our wedding cake was baked by our family ( sister in law) and she surprised me by adding a purple layer that could only
be seen when we cut the cake.
We went to Phuket, Thailand. This will always be a very special place for us. We did everything together and learned so much of one another.
My wedding dress had a lot of detail so accessories was kept to the minimal. My earrings was a gift from my father years back and was from the beginning my choice no matter how my dress was designed.
My makeup was natural and the goal was to high lite my eyes.
My choice of wedding shoes was not taken lightly :) Me and my husband searched for the most comfortable silver heels we could find.
My lingerie had a touch of blue and this was a gift on my wedding day from my best friend (also my sister in law).
We got married in Potchefstroom - Limerick Lodge. Most of our guests stayed the night as the venue had chalets available.
The night before I made sure my skin was cleansed and moisturized for the following day's makeup. We did not go for any other treatments or extra pampering.
I had all of my favorite colors combined with the main color being purple. We liked the feeling of classic and decided to mix the purple with black and silver.
We did not use any extra lightning - we wanted our photos to be natural.
The groom bought his suit at Jones and Kent.
The groomsmen were allowed to wear any suite they feel comfortable in.
The bridesmaids were allowed to wear any long black dress.
Our marriage officer was my priest from my hometown Nico Dicks.
Our photographer is Hendre Kruger (HK Photography) in Potchefstroom. He is very talented and made us feel very comfortable with every photo.
Hendre captures the natural photos. He has great packages to choose from.
We did not make use of any wedding planners. We as a couple arranges everything ourselves
On the day of the wedding my husband drove me to my hair and make-up salon and went back to the venue to finalize the rest of the decor. My mother than picked me up and we drove back to the venue.
We did not choose a special wedding car as everything was walking distance on the lodge.
The food was made by Lekker Spitbraai situated in Springs. They arrived on time and prepared the best food.
My wedding cake was a gift from my sister and brother in law and was made by them.
We did not take any dance lessons.
We prepared a playlist 3 weeks before our wedding.
Later that night our guests could choose their own music and plug in their phones.
