My bridesmaids were amazing! The morning with them was fun and relaxing. They helped me stay calm, but excited :) :) We got married on the beach, and the whole 9 months we were planning, we were praying for great weather. The week leading up to the wedding it was a roller coaster of weather. sunny one day, windy and raining the other. We ended up having the most beautiful day! 28 degrees, with almost no wind and clear skies, with the most beautiful sunset we could ever ask for! We also has the most amazing guests that danced the night away with us!
We went on a amazing week of honeymoon. My handsome hubby organised it as a suprise :) We started off at one of my favourite places in the world, Tsitsikama national park. We stayed there for 2 nights. We did some hiking in the area as well as the tree top canapy tours. After that we headed to Plettenberg bay for 3 nights in a beautiful house to ourselves, overlooking the ocean. We went on a 2 hour whale watching boat ride and got conpletely soaked, but it was totally worth it as we saw whales breaching right next to the boat. The next day we did a 2 hour horse riding trip on the Plettenberg game reserve, where we saw rhino and elephants and all kinds of anthelope from the back of Rocky and Blaze.
The next day was cold and rainy so we decided to book into the spa at the Beacon Island hotel and spa for a 90 min swedish couple massage. The rest of the day we made an inside fire and watched movies :)
The next morning we got up early packed and hit the road to our final destination for 2 nights on the way back to Cape Town. We stayed in LAgulhas national park. What an amazing way to end a wonderful week. We took the 2 days to just relax and enjoy nature and the ocean. Every place we stayed was aboaultely amazing! Everyone was friendly and so accommodating. Sad to go back to reality!
I wanted to go casual, but elegant. As we got married on the beach. I had a type A line dress with a lace bodice and low V back with a satin and tulle bottom. I wore a 2 tier chandelier veil with it, which has always been my dream. Because we were on the beach I was bare feet and my bridesmaids wore barefoot jewelry. My Fiance (then), gave me a beautiful Swarovski tennis bracelet and Swarovski earrings to go with my look. Karin Chan, from The Art of Makeup, did my hair and makeup. She did an amazing job!! I had a loose but elegant side swept style with a braid in the back and a smokey crease eye with some pink and coral and a nude pink lip.
We got married in Brenton on Sea, Knysna, on Brenton beach. We had the ceremony at the top of the hill at Brenton Haven hotel's restaurant, Butterfly blu. It has the most beautiful view over the beach and ocean with incredible sunsets! Most of our guests made a weekend or long weekend out of it and stayed in Brenton on Sea for the time. It was a destination wedding, so it was the perfect excuse for a little holiday. They stayed at different places in Brenton on Sea, including the Brenton Haven hotel and Brenton on Sea cottages and Chalets.
I didn't go over board with beauty regimes. But I believe if you are eating healthy, exercising and moisturizing enough, then your skin will glow :)
