28 October 2017 was a perfect day for our wedding. We've met about 16 years and i still find him attractive. He was handsomely dressed in his suit and as i walked down the isle i realized how blessed i was to have a man who loves me as much as Denzil does. Everything about that day was perfect. The most memorable day of my life.
Yes we did go on honeymoon. In fact this was the first secure booking before anything else. We went to Goudini Spa for a week. It was very relaxed and romantic. We did alot of couple things together - massages, spa etc etc.
The theme of my wedding was diamonds and elegance. So i went for a more form fitting mermaid style dress with not alot of tulle below. It was pure white satin with a "bling" detailed lace. I love the fact that my dress didnt had much going on - alot of traffic - but more simple and elegant. I wore no necklace but opted for the long chandelier type earings that showed off the bling. The fact that the dress made me feel so comfortable was a big bonus. My hair and make up was done my Juandre de Villiers and i loved the look of the make up. Since my wedding colour was black, i went for a black sissy boy court shoe - love the shoes.
We got married in our church - Docks Mission Wellington. And pastor Trevor Blows officiate our wedding. My husband's family traveled from Cape Town so they stayed over at his family's home for the weekend.
I believe in natural beauty (and vaseline). So i didnt do alot of beauty treatments but i did treat myself to alot of sleep and rest. As I've been told that your wedding day can tire you out I've decided to have enough rest so that i can look beautiful and refreshed for my husband. I had my nails done by Shene Pekeur - the ring finger had the diamond effects on to blend into the theme of the wedding.
I had a catering company Boland Catering who did my reception venue. They blew my mind!!!! I knew choosing black as a decor colour might be a bit tricky and wont bring much "light" into the hall but they did an really amazing job. The flowers was from Sandra Flower Shop in Wellington and i went for all white flowers. We rented a black and white dance floor from Strawberry Events and it was just the finishing touch the wall needed. Our guest really made use of the dance floor.
The groomsmen had the black tuxedo suit with a black and white polka dot bow tie. And my husband wore the white blazer tuxedo suit with a black bow tie. We hired the suits from Suit Hire in Paarl.
My bridesmaid and maid of honor wore a mermaid style black lace dress. The under linning of the dress was a champagne colour stretch material and the top was the black lace. It was a beautiful sweetheart shape dress. They saw the dress hanging in the shop, tried it on and fell in love with it. Zetha Hargreaves was our ring princess and she had a beautifully tulle long black dress on.
Our marriage officer was Pastor Trevor Blows. He is our church pastor. I'm very fortunate to have had him entered me into marriage and that he was part of my big day.
Our wedding photographer was Randall Morris. Prior to the wedding we went for a few shoots just to feel more comfortable with the camera - we had such a good time. The wedding day picture came out really nice and we're very pleased.
The videographer was Creative Studio and i am amazed at how talented they are. They captured every moment of our day.
My maid of honour - she planned it all. Since the day i told her our wedding date she just ran with ideas. every night she pitched me with a presentation and all i had to do was made the decision.
We rented a limousine for our transport. The driver picked my husband up, took him to church and then came for me. After the church ceremony we all drove in the limo.
The delicious food was prepared by Boland Catering. I selected a summer plate with different salads, chicken and steak. I was very impressed by the presentation of the food - colorful, filling and delicious.
The wedding cake was made by Wilma Adams - beautifully made.
My invitations was made by Sharlene Deon - and must I say very very talented with her hands. I showed her a picture of what i had in mind and she made it look better then the vision i had in my head. Her use of word on the invitation was so beautiful and sentimental. Even the wedding ceremony program was beautifully designed and made by her.
The moment i took the dance floor with my husband for our first official dance as Mr and Mrs Albertus, it just hit me. Deep down into my soul it hit me - this is real, this is official. We danced to Every time I close my eyes by Babyface. And really i literally closed my eyes as my husband held me in his arms and i just soaked in the moment - it was a beautiful moment.
