Most brides long and dream of a perfect wedding, I was blessed and highly favoured to have just that. I cannot think of one specific highlight, as the entire day was beyond memorable. From getting ready with my bridal squad in the home I grew up in to seeing my dads face when walking out of the room fully dressed. To getting stuck on traffic being a whole 45 minutes late, to having a moment with my Mom..."You did good kid". There are seriously no words to describe our perfect wedding.
Seeing my husbands face when walking down the isle was just the cherry on the top.
Yes we went on honeymoon, to Wilderness, going from the Oyster Shack to Salinas to the map of Africa. We even managed to go to one of our sister church's in George.
I was aiming for an elegant yet chilled, look...far reach, I know, but I think we managed to pull it off. Hair, I am blessed enough to have a cousin who is absolutely talented with creating styles with just clips and Avon hairspray. I wanted whimsical, soft and pretty, and thats exactly what she did for myself and all the bridesmaids including herself.
Makeup I asked for something soft yet WOW and my makeup artist Catherine Terblanch made me look like an absolute princess (bearing in mind I am not a girly girl)
Shoes was pretty easy as I was not going to torture myself in heels, I opted for flat pointed white pumps from a local shop.
Jewelry was very plain and simple, adding to the whimsical look. We didnt go overboard with accessories, I had my "something borrowed, something blue, something old, something new.
We got married at Forrest 44 - La Pineta in Stellenbosch. The majority of the bridal party and parents stayed the night in accommodation close by. Villa Helderberg being one of them (highly recommended)
Decor was done by the very talented Tonkia Visser, flowers done by the very talented Lizelle Aries, there were no tents, stage or lighting required. We did however have fire baskets and a fire place, thanks to the venue :)
All the guys got their clothes from Markhams, I found their accessories online, undies, socks and flasks
My bridesmaids wore very cute yet elegant lace capped sleeved dress with pink tank tops underneath, accompanied by flat grey pumps. We got the look from ideas we had shared from what I had initially asked for.
We got married through our church, Christian Revival Church by Pastor Shaun Thomas.
Leigh-Anne Oostehuizen - L.A Photography. Leigh- Anne and her partner Julian are one dynamic duo, they captured every moment of our love on both the day of our engagement shoot and wedding day. She comes highly recommended, with her eye for detail and fine touch..
Yes I did, and I could not have asked for anyone better to have brought my vision to life - Tonkia Visser
I was blessed enough to have an uncle and a cousin who drive similar cars. They done me the profound honour of driving myself and my bridal squad to the venue.
The food was done by the venue and their amazing team!
The cake was done by a family friend who made the cake exactly as what I asked for :)

To be honest, my husband and I designed our own stationary and had it printed at a local store. My mother in law and I then got plastic boxes/containers and decorated them with our own designed stickers, with mints in them.
My cousin had taught us a few moves to wow the crowd. Our sound and lighting was done by More2Xplore who had sponsored us with a DJ, again highly recommended :)
