My most memorable moment was seeing my husband with tears in his eyes, when I walked down the aisle, I could see how much love he had for me which made me just as emotional knowing we just a few steps for vowing our forever's and oh boy didn't he look handsome. Also he had written a letter to me on our wedding with the most beautiful words which had me up in tears before heading to the chapel. I also loved the fact that it was only myself and husband at the main table, that way we could spend and celebrate in our own day, and talk about how beautiful our special day had turned out. Another memorable moment would be that my brother walked me down on the aisle with such pride representing my Dad. My entire wedding was a highlight for us, we wanted our guests to have a blast, so we had entertainment such as lawn games, craft beer and a cigar bar the entire day was just so perfect and memorable. My décor was exquisite and I felt beautiful!
I sure did, my Husband, as Romantic as he is planned the entire Honeymoon, and kept the destination a secret from me. I was told to pack winter, and summer clothes not knowing what to expect, none the less, I did as told with lots of excitement not knowing what to expect. We got to the airport, and at check in, the hostess calmly said you going to Bali? That is when I started tearing and gave my husband a kiss and thanked him for such a unique destination and could wait what was in store for us. We stayed at two different areas in Bali, namely Benoa & Ubud , we also travelled East of Bali. The Honeymoon was amazing, and such an unforgettable experience to have with my husband as our first trip together. Lots of memories made!!!
Both myself, and Husband are minimalistic, and try to consider ourselves as trendy. I always dreamt of having a Pronovias Dress, I was privileged enough to get my dream dress from them, I think all brides know how difficult it is finding thee wedding dress, I went through about 20 dresses, before I found the one. My dress was sophisticated, sexy, yet elegant. I didn't want any shiny embellishment, and therefore opted for something simplistic, figure fitted with lace details and I felt so gorgeous in my wedding dress and long train. With my hair I wanted soft wavy curls that look natural, I didn't want a single hair pin in my hair, I did however add a flower gown with greenery, so that when I took off my veil I still had something in my hair. Shoes were quiet a mission as my Husband is 3 cm taller than I am, and I didn't want to be taller than him on our wedding day I know its not such an issue, but for me it was. I finally found beautiful blush stilettoes I wanted a colour that I could wear to another occasion again and had the right height heel :). My jewellery was simplistic, and all custom made from Beaudell Jewellery small pear cubic earrings and a infinity bracelet, I went with rose gold to match up with the rest of my décor. My veil was my sisters she got married in April and also a contestant in the competition (Veronica Barnard), it was very sentimental to wear my sisters veil as it was my 'something borrowed'.

We got married at Monte Bello, situated in Bloemfontein, we loved the rustic feel of the venue and absolutely feel in love with the outdoor Maze chapel. The venue also accommodated for the amount of guests we invited, and still had a large dance floor. The venue was a few km's out of town so most of our guests stayed at the venue's lodge, and some stayed at local guest house in town.
I didn't really have a beauty regime, I just drank a lot of water, so that my skin was glowing on the big day, I also tried to eat as healthy as possible.
My husband and I started a year before the wedding planning our décor, we set up a meeting with Ulrich from Grand Room Designs in Bloemfontein. I explained to Ulrich that we loved uniqueness, and that we didn't want to go with the norm. We wanted to incorporate our love for the colour black, burgundy and geometric shapes, and that we wanted a very dark but yet elegant wedding. Ulrich took our brief and created our stunning décor. We had raw wooden tables with white tiffany chairs, the tables had two different settings, with one having a wooden arch above the table with grey and copper pendants and flowers hanging above the other had gold candelabra's with black candles lit, and geometric accessories in gold and rose gold. My flowers were so gorgeous, the use of different type of orchids, fruits, proteas, tulips, delious monsters and lots of greenery it was definitely a pop of colour to the entire look of the décor. Our décor was trendy, minimalistic, and modern, exactly what I envisioned. We also had grey drapes rented and used 10 panels on each side of the hall just to finish the look and make the hall more cosy. I designed all my wedding stationery, and had a friend print it, the menu was black and gold, we placed it on the table next to the grey napkin, and a hexagon coaster, and macaroon as wedding favours.
My handsome husband, wore a suit from Kurt Geiger, with stitching on the collar, and textured black fabric, hes shirt and belt was also Kurt Geiger. He's shoes were from Arthur Jack they were matt black and not pointy as he wanted to wear he's shoes to other occasions so they had to be comfortable and not shiny or pointy :P. He didn't want a flower boutonniere so I thought of getting a geometric lapel pin made. My friend from Miss H Jewellery designs custom made all the groomsmen geometric lapel pins in copper. The tie, bow ties and pocket squares were all from My Bro Tie. The groomsmen suits were bought from Woolworths, shirts and shoes were there own. We also got Cuban cigars to complete the look when taking photographers.
While getting ready my bridesmaids wore jumpers from May May attire with floral prints. I wanted my bridesmaids to wear crop tops and a flowey skirt with pockets. I found inspiration from Pinterest ,and then made it my own. The burgundy dresses had pockets, and a waist band to emphasize their waist, the crop top print was custom made, as there was really not a print I though would work. Their earrings were made by Miss H Jewellery designs, they also wore flower crowns and wreaths instead of a bouquet and this completed there look beautifully.
Our Pastor was Ps Andre from Christian Revival Church, and oh what a beautiful message!
Lana Human, was our incredible talented photographer, she made us feel so at ease, and assisted us in what to do to get the perfect photographer taken. François from Raising Flags was extremely professional, he and he's team videographed our beautiful day.
No, I did not have a planner, Myself and husband did all the planning which made it extra personal
The food was prepared by Monte Bello Estate, and a few of the traditional items were prepared by our family relatives. The cake was oh so gorgeous and so tasty made by the talented Carmen from Carries Cookies & Candy
My save the dates and wedding invitations were designed and printed by Rebelle Designs. I designed the rest of our wedding stationery, such as the menu, programs, seating plan, cigar bar ect, my friend from deSigns did all the printing.
The party was great, we had most of the guests on the dance floor, our Dj, was Dj Magpie from Bloemfontein she incorporated traditional music, as well as commercial music for the younger crowd. We did not take any dance lessons as we wanted the first dance to look natural and not practiced :)
