The first highlight of my day was to see my fathers face when he saw me all dressed up and ready to get married. It was priceless, but the absolute best was seeing my husband face as I walk down the isle with tears streaming down his face! my heart wanted to burst. I knew there and then that choosing him was the best decision ever.
Yes, we did go on honeymoon. My hubby took me to Mauritius on the South East part of the Island. 7 Days of absolute spoiling!! It was just amazing!! Definitely going again some day.
My dress style was a semi-mermaid. There was a bit of every dress I ever saved (during my wedding dress browsing period) in the dress I chose for my wedding day. I tried to go a bit vintage with my dress to fit with my ceremony theme as well.
My hair was a updo, didn't want to struggle with hair falling in my face or getting to warm when the party began. My make up was done very natural. I am not a person who loves a bling or very shinny things, therefore just kept it plain and simple.
My shoes was pearl white Pierre Cardin high heals with accessories made of pearls, my earrings, bracelet and necklace had some kind of pearl.
I also went according to the saying, if I can call it that :" Something old (necklace), something new (dress and shoes), something borrowed (my bracelet), something blue (gater)." and all of those I had on me during the wedding.
My hair and makeup was done by Karin Roode.
We got married at Makiti Wedding Venue, in Muldersdrift near the Sterkfontein Caves.
Our guests could sleep over the night if they wanted to, at the venue. They had 99 rooms available. The rest of my guests who couldn't get a room at the venue, used lodges around the area.
I tried to follow a proper a diet, not to over eat or under eat.
I took my dogs for a walk - my exercise
My hubby and I went for a full body massage, facial and manicure and pedicure a week before the wedding.
I would definitely suggest this before the wedding it calmed both of us.
My theme was vintage wine yards.
My colors where mint, navy and peach.
My seating plan looked like a grape vines with every table name (also a different wine my hubby and I loved) on a laser cut wine bottle and the guests names on a wine glass.
My center piece was a glass dome on a wooden board with flower arrangements of roses, succulents, greenery and small daisy flowers with fairy lights in between.
On the main table was a old sleeper filled with succulents, roses, small flowers and proteas.
The chapel was just as beautiful with ivy leaves draped around the wooden beams, flower arrangements at every second row and 2 big flower arrangements at the front of the church.
The Groom had a navy suit, bought it from Euro Suit in Sandton.
With that he had brown leather shoes and belt with superhero cufflings and socks.
He also had a matching brown watch.
The groomsmen wore charcoal suites, with navy bow ties, navy suspenders and their superhero cufflings and socks.
I had 2 bridesmaids and a maid of honor.
They all had the some color dress, but the style was different. Thank you Pinterest.
They all had their own idea for their hairstyle and my maid of honor (sister) helped with that on the wedding day.
They also got their own shoes that they found comfortable.
Ds. Barry Fourie in Boksburg
They were absolutely awesome.
Our photographers where Ross Images. Two amazing people!! They are husband and wife and just know how to make you feel comfortable. Posing wasn't a problem, they show you what they want and then it is much easier to do.
They were part of our life since the pre-shoot and does amazing work and is very affordable!
Videographer was Adlertainment. Also stunning people. I thought it might get a bit uncomfortable, but she handled everything great. You didn't even know she was there!
A big bonus for us was that the videographer and the photographer knew each other from previous weddings making everything much easier.
We even had a few good laughs.
The Wedding Venue had a few menu options you could choose from and made everything to our hearts desire.
The food was really tasty and there were more than enough for all the guests.
Trudie Theron made our wedding cake and it was stunning!! Beautiful and soooo tasty.
Our wedding invitations were made by Sonya Ward from Hot Chili Designs.
She did an absolutely amazing job and didn't stop making invites until I was completely satisfied with the product.
