It is so difficult pin point specific moments of our wedding day as every single moment of our special day was more than perfect to us!
Walking down the aisle and seeing all the emotion on my husband's face is a moment that I will cherish forever.
Seeing my parents' faces when they first saw me dressed and ready for the big day is another magical moment that I will always keep in my heart.
My sister was my maid of honor and she gave a memorable speech and toast on me and my husband.
My husband's speech is one that I will never forget! He had most of the guests in tears and laughing at the same time.
Both our ring bearer (2 years old) and flower girl (4 years old) walked perfectly down the aisle with no fuss!
Our first dance is definitely one to remember as we did a flash mob that took the whole crowd by surprise!
One of the most magical moments of the day was the weather! Weather forecasts showed 100% chance of rain on our wedding day, at our venue and still we had the most beautiful afternoon! I was able to walk down the aisle under a beautiful sunset. Our guests enjoyed the canapés outside, just as I wanted them to. When it was time for the reception to start and all the guests were seated inside, the rain poured down! The storm that was forecasted for 16:00 that day cam at exactly the right time and not as predicted.
The dance floor at the venue is outside, on a pond with fairy lights draped around the dance floor. We desperately wanted to use of this lovely feature at the wedding venue. When the time came for my husband and I to open the dance floor with our first dance, the storm cleared up once again!
We could not have asked for a more perfect day!!!
My husband surprised me with a trip to Zanzibar. We spent four nights in a five-star resort, called Seacliff.
The activities that we did included a romantic picnic, getting massages, relaxing at the resort's infinity pools, enjoying cocktails on the deck while watching the sunset. The more adventurous activities that we did included snorkeling, watching dolphins, swimming in a lagoon, tasting local and traditional foods, visiting prison island and doing a spice tour.
This is a holiday that I will never forget!
Our wedding theme was a romantic, french country wedding and all the elements complemented each other.
I was fortunate that my wedding dress was made by the famous and extremely talented Diaan Daniels. The dress had exceptional detail with different layers of lace and material. Diaan and his team always made me feel welcome and made the dress perfect to suit my personality and style.
My beautiful wedding shoes were from Anella's Wedding Shoes and my jewelry from Swarovski and American Swiss.
My nails done by the lovely Tammy Tailor Nail Bar and my hair and make-up done by Yolandi and her team from Angelic Allure. I love smoky eyes and Yolandi is truly an expert when it comes to making a smoky eye.
My beautiful garter was specially hand-made by my husband's grandmother.
My something borrowed was a beautiful hair pin from my sister.
I felt like a princess. Everything was perfect and exactly what I dreamt of.

We got married at Bell Amour in Pretoria. To us, this is the most beautiful wedding venue with it's dance floor on a pond surrounded by fairy lights. Bell Amour has a romantic, french country flair and has the most amazing scenery. All of our photos were taken at the venue.
Most of our guests stayed at the venue as it has its own accommodation.
I went jogging on a regular basis as well as visiting the gym for some light weight training. I also tried eating healthy and getting enough sleep.
All the elements of our wedding day worked well with our romantic, french country theme and light grey colour scheme.
We had an aisle runner with 1 Corinthians 13 printed on it. We used heart shaped, white and grey paper as our confetti. The whole family jumped in to us make this!
We had wooden tables with tiffany chairs and lots of candles and fairy lights. Our flowers - done by Blommelief, was a combination of eucalyptus leaves, white roses and a variety of other white flowers to add to the romantic atmosphere.
The day was everything we had hoped and wanted.
My husband looked very handsome in a navy Polo suit from Your Pal in Brooklyn. He wore Aldo shoes and bright coloured Happy Socks (one of his favourite things). His outfit was rounded off perfectly by a wooden bowtie and badge. This was accompanied with wooden cufflinks with the words "vir ewig en altyd" (forever and always) engraved on it. The cuffinks were a gift from me to him on our 7-year dating anniversary in July 2017.
The groomsmen wore navy pants and white shirts with suspenders, wooden bowties and badges.
My bridesmaids looked absolutely stunning! They wore light grey coloured dresses made by The Maiden in Centurion. It was long dresses with lace at the top. Each bridesmaid could choose how they wanted the sleeves to suit each of their unique styles and personalities.
They wore their own silver heels and jewelry. Their hair and make-up were also done by Yolandi and her team from Angelic Allure.
Our marriage officer was one of our best friends who is also a pastor - Hannes Heyneke.
The message that he preached at our ceremony was coincidentally from the same verse that was preached at my parents' wedding.
The ceremony was very special and personal to us.
Our videographer was Kobus Potgieter from Koospot Films. He is super talented! We used him for our wedding invitations as well as we wanted something different and decided on a video invitation.
Our photographers, Pieter and Mariëtte Du Toit from Detoit Photography are also extremely talented. They did an amazing job capturing our special day.
Our videographer and photographers worked well together, made us feel comfortable in front of the camera and did an incredible job capturing our special day.
Fortunately for us, our venue had their own wedding planners, Ronel and Inge from Bell Amour are two amazing people who truly listened to what we wanted and how we wanted our wedding day. They walked the extra mile for us. They helped us plan our special day from the first meeting until the end of our wedding.
The venue is so well equipped, with everything close to each other, there was no need for transport. Also, with the amazing weather that we had on our wedding day I was able to walk to the chapel from the room where I got dressed. I wanted a long entrance with a romantic atmosphere, so walking to the chapel was exactly what I wanted.
Our food was prepared by the venue. The team prepared incredibly tasty foods. Our starters were camembert in phyllo pastry with berry compote. Our main comprised of chicken breasts stuffed with ham, peppadews and feta, wrapped in bacon, served with a creamy sweet chilli sauce. Leg of lamb, potato wedges, roasted vegetables and phyllo wheels with sweet potatoes and the most amazing creamy caramel sauce. For dessert we had chocolate brownies with chocolate mousse and berry compote.
Bakgat Ontwerp did the printing for our newspapers and thank you tags. They are very creative!
I wanted to walk down the aisle with live music, so during the ceremony and canapés, Christelle and her team from Afrikaans Hoër entertained the guests with a violin, keyboard and a clarinet.
Our first dance as a husband and wife was a flash mob choreographed by Bianca from Five6Seven8 Dance Studio. Bianca is an excellent dancer who choreographed the most amazing moves. Moves that I did not think I will ever be able to do, especially in a wedding dress and high heels! This was a huge surprise for our guests.
Our DJ, Braam from Multimusic is an excellent DJ. He read the crowd perfectly and kept most of the guests dancing until the end.
