So our wedding was on the Saturday but we arrived at the venue on the friday already. We stopped at the entrance and put up a wooden board saying "Anneke & Theo troue"... this was memorable moment for me because I just thought 'this is it' after all the planning and preparations the time has finally come to marry the man of my dreams.
Walking down the path to meet my dad was something that no one can prepare you for. I managed to keep my tears to a minimum throughout the getting ready process, but as soon as I saw my dad tears just fell!!
And then last but not least... walking down the isle and seeing my husband for the first time!! I can not discribe this feeling, the warmth, happiness, acceptance and realization. This was my forever...and I couldnt wait to start our adventure!!
Honeymoon!!!!! So we went camping!!!! I know... it doesnt sound like the most romantic idea, but oh boy it couldnt have been beter!! We went to Salt Rock in Balito... only for a week!! The idea was to have one wedding TWO honeymoons... so this was our first... we camped sooo close to the ocean it was unreal!! So for people like us who LOVE camping and LOVE the ocean it just felt like heaven!!! The second honeymoon will be in Thailand this coming April... CANT WAIT!!!
So my wedding look was wayyy out of my comfort zone!! I wanted a plain dress nothing massive, something with straps, with no hoop... instead I choose something completely different!!! I wore a dress made by Something Beautifull in Meyerton, and I absolutely LOVED it!!! The whole bridal party wore Vellies and mine was Blue to signify the something blue by tradition. My hair and makeup was done by Salon Zinnia in Parys... because I always straighten my hair I decided to go all curls for my wedding, it looked amazing!!! Lastly my bouquet was my something borrowed... I looked for a wood protea everywhere and finally found the perfect one at my local pharmacy!! It wasnt for sale though so I borrowed it, which then ended up being the only thing I needed to end off the bridel tradition of something old, new, borrowed and blue!!*
The wedding transport was an old VW bus... so this bus has a name!! Her name is Betsie!! She has been in my husband's life even before we met... we always new she would be our wedding car!! Just because of all the memories we've had with her... she also ended up being the photobooth which was just amazing!! Everything was set up and around her and our guests just loved taking photos with the famous Betsie Love Wagon!!!
