How do you spell love?.... you don't you FEEL it - Winnie the Pooh
Our wedding was not just another "cookie cutter" wedding. Our special day was not just a celebration of our love , but rather a celebration of our love for our family and friends.Family and friends travelled from far to celebrate with us and this is why our most memriable memries encompasses all the magical moments we shared with them.
Stolen moments like these spent with my Dad reminding him to stay calm , breath : " DAD DONT CRY, IM AN UGLY CRIER...MY MAKE UP , and his response being : It's too late.
Chapel doors opening and seeing the look on my soul mates face and watching him tear up, while Mathew Mole sings the lyrics to our favourite song , Same part , same heart.
Our memroble moments are filled with people we love the moments that were unscripted , unplanned and unforgettable.
I have loved her, my little wanderer , with a mind full of wild forests and eyes that await adventures - Conny Cernik
Our honeymoon was all my Husbands doing and Oh does he know me well.
He whisked me away to a log cabin hotel in the heart of the Titsikama forest, our time together was spent in fluffy hotel gowns , emergency phone calls to my brother inlaw for instructions on how to get the jacuzzi started ( after all who would phone the help desk...)
Everyday was filled with an adventure activity like walking with elephants ,going on a tour through the forst on segways and making a pit stop at the local farmers markets .
My wedding look was Boho Chic , the idea was not to be someone else on my wedding day but rather myself in a ptretty white dress.
My dress was designed by Casey Jeanne Atelier a South African deesigner based in Durban .It was a classic lightly beaded Chatilly lace gown with long sleeves , open back and long train.
We opted for wreathes that were coverevd in eucalyptus and adornd with wild flowers that were different shades of deep purple.
My accessories ,were a lil more me and lil more alternative they included a brown felt hat fron RVCA , jewelery from a local Boutique Mooiste and fashionable yet comfy Zellie shoes.I also wore heirloom jewellery handed down to me from my grandmothers.
Our hair and make up was done by a local salon: Whiskey and Honey which helped bring my vision together.
We got married in the shadow of the Lady Slipper mountain at SlipperFields Wedding Venue
Slipperfields is set in the backdrop of the country side , a mere 20-minute drive from Port Elizabeth, nestled at the foot of the Lady Slipper Mountain range in the Eastern Cape.
The ambiance is that of a rustic barn which seemed to be perfect with the vision we had decided on.The hall is surrounded by green pastures with cows grazing and spendid views of the surrounding mountains.
our venue was filled with floating jars, wild flowers and fairy lights that complimented the deep shades of purple used in most of elements of the decor,
Guests were sat at long wooden long tables flanked with tiffanys chairs.
My bridal party wore designer dresses from Dark Paradise a label by a local designer Mieke Janse Van Rensburg. They also wore matching Zellie shoes , lovisa jewellery and walked down the aisle with woven twig wreathes adornes with babys breath and lavender.
Our beautiful photos where captured by the very capable and talented team at Van Bode Photography, while the videorgrapher was Reino Van Eck from Eclipse Photography.
We decided that a photobooth was a must and elected to hire Amuse Booths to set up a temporary photobooth with a selection of funny hats and signage.
I think I had the best planner possible :My Mom , I was deffinetly lucky to have her by my side every step of the way.
Our food was catered by the venue and our wedding cake was a wedding present from my dearest Aunt who did an amazing job.
