Walking down the aisle beside my father to the man of my dreams was the biggest highlight. Our vows which we wrote ourselves as well as our up beat first dance is something I will cherish and remember forever. Having our family and friends share in our special day made it even more special. Especially all the well wishes shared by some of them.
Yes, We toured the Garden route. It was so beautiful and absolutely perfect. We stayed in Knysna and George. We went to other places as well such as Meiringspoort, Klein Karoo, Outeniqua mountains, Tsitsikamma, etc. The best part of our honeymoon was that we were finally out of our home town together. We were care free and enjoyed every minute of the trip away.
I looked amazing, even if I must say so myself. I had a mermaid style dress because I had an "under the sea" wedding theme. It had a built in corset with embroidery on the bodice we well as rouching. It was body hugging and flowy at the bottom with a piece of lace going down the bottom section of the dress. The dress was boob-tube and has a train as well as a long veil with laced edges. My make-up was natural with a bright coloured lipstick. My hair was curly and the style was half up and half down. I wore a silver sandal with a platform. I had a silver accessory in my hair and long diamond silver earrings.
We got married at Manas. It is in Lorainne and it was beautifully decorated for us. We had both the ceremony and the reception there. I loved every minute of my big day. The guests all had a great time which was evident by all dancing. We danced for 2 hours straight and it was so much fun.
I didn't have any special beauty regimes leading up to the wedding. I did, however, exercise now and then as well as went for walls and drank more water.
The decor was all done according to our "under the sea" theme. The flowers were aram lillies and roses. We had 2 white king and queen chairs that we sat on for the ceremony. They were beautiful and huge. We rented them in Newton Park. Manas has a huge boat on the grass which fitted perfect with our theme and when it got dark there was blue lights around it. Inside Manas we had fairy lights and Chinese lanterns which created a nice ambiance.
The groom wore a black suit with a white shirt, navy tie and a navy waistcoat. It was hired and tailored at Peri's suit hire. The groomsmen wore navy pants, light blue shirts, navy ties and navy waistcoats. They bought their clothes at Markhams. All of the guys wore brown shoes which they also bought.
The bridesmaids wore long navy blue dresses. It was off the shoulder and had 2 frills on top. The bottom had a slit on the one side and the inside layer of the dress only covered their thighs. The outer layer was transparent so their legs were visible. The dresses were bought online at Forever New. They wore silver sandals and they all bought it at different stores.
Our marriage officer was pastor Philip de Klerk. He is the senior pastor at our church.
Dirk Moggee captured our special moments of the day. He was amazing to work with and very friendly. He's work is stunning and was worth every cent that we paid him. He does both photography and videography but we only decided on having photography for our wedding.
No, We did everything ourselves with the help of our mothers some family members.
We were blessed with wedding cars. We had an Audi A6, Mercedes-Benz and a Fortuner. It didn't cost us a cent as family and friends offered us their cars on the house.
The owner at Manas prepared my food. Her name is Val and she has a team that works with her to ensure that the food is fresh and tasty.
My aunt made my wedding cake. She goes to cake classes and has been making fancy cakes for years.
A&R designed and printed our stationery. They did a good job.
We made up our own dance so we did not go for lessons.
The sound was set up by the groom, groomsmen and DJ.
We had the best DJ ever! He is really good at what he does. DJ Craigo.
