The moment I wore my wedding dress, I realised how blessed I was, to wish for that kind of dress and have my wish come true. When I stood at my home's door and ready to leave for the venue and everyone and I mean everyone who was there ,taking pictures, singing and dancing as per my culture. Last but not least is when my husband received me in the middle of the aisle , from my brother. Oooohhhh what a magical moment!
Yes, The Gorge Private Game Lodge. We enjoyed 3 days of luxury. The treatment from the staff and management was at its best, the cuisine and cocktails was the best I have ever tasted. We enjoyed the beauty of the sunrise and sunset from our beautifully designed chalet. The outside shower was the cherry on-top.I can truly say we had the BEST honeymoon.
My dress was tailormade by Casey Jeanne based in Durban, she outdid herself. I definitely looked like some supermodel from that dress. The shoes were from Charles and Keith. My weave was installed by Ceecee and styled by Lethu Makhathini, he decided to do a mercy bun as it would complement the back of my dress. Make-up artist was Charity Ngcobo, a professional from Foschini, I was looking for just a flawless look and I pleased with the outcome.
We got married at Lythwood Lodge in midlands. Some of our guests stayed the night at the same venue. From the day we started interacting with Lythwood management, it was obvious we would have a wedding of our dream. They went as far as planning every little detail and quoting from their list of suppliers on our behalf. I will be forever greatful to the staff and management of Lythwood- particulars Alison. Our guests have never stopped talking about the scenic view of the lodge.
I had to attend gym almost everyday from November onwards, just to maintain and tone my body and my did it pay-off! I also did a facial and hair treatment and it was my first treat ever. It was the first but definitely not the last treatment. My skin felt so refreshed even with make-up, on my wedding day.
My husband wore a tailormade suit by Mr Slimfit based in Gauteng. The suit is grey and have our names and our wedding date sawn on the inside of his coat. The collar has our 2 sons names sewn-in as well. The shirt and bow-tie is also from Mr Slimfit. The groomsmen' suits and bow-ties were bought at the suit boutique based in Durban.
My bridesmaids wore tailormade soft tulle dresses, design chosen by me. THANKS to Sister Khumbu Mazibuko, the bridesmaid and I were happy with the final product. My bridesmaids were my freinds and sister and happily chose them from my heart.I came-up with the flare tulle skirt design for their comfort and flexibility.
Nothing would of made me happier than being married to my husband by Pastor Khanyi. He is a man of God and I grew-up under his congregation. Apart from everything else I knew he'll come dressed elegantly for the occasion and he definitely didn't disappoint. My husband and I had already taken pre-marital classes and briefed him of how time conscious we were because it was an afternoon wedding something very rare from our race. And again he didn't disappoint, a very brief matrimonial but with a strong message service.
Brandon Wyness did an excellent job, capturing all our moments. Although the weather was not in our favor, with a bit of rain here, but he made sure, he captured the best and beauty poses. The videographer also came from his company and he also did a marvelous job. After waiting for a couple of weeks, our album was delivered and my we'r still speechless. My husband and I call it our book of life. Each and every image tells a story.......I can definitely refer Mr Wyness to anyone to capture their memorable day.
We didn't have a planner but we were so fortunate to have Alison ,Lythwood's manager, assisting us with evetything until the last hour at no extra costs.
The food was prepared by Lythwood Lodge from starters to the main course. It was the most delicious food I have ever tasted, served warm and on-time. There was also traditional food that was prepared at home by my freinds Lethu Makhathini and Ntokozo Nkosi. I am talking steamed bread, boiled beef, tripe and samp. My husband and I believe when it comes to food , it is best to cater for all your guests afterall what's a celebration without food. The cake had 3 different flavor tiers with 2 on the side(for mother's in-law). It was beautifully designed, baked and delivered by Lauren Lee from Midlands. The cake was served as one of the desserts of the day. Our guests cannot stop talking about it and as for us we couldn't ask for anything better.
We had a celebration of our lives. My husband and I opened the dancefloor with a cha cha, as we had taken dance lessons few weeks before our wedding day. We danced romantically as our favorite song played. Ooohh what a moment! We had hired DJ Scelo from Midlands and he did a spectacular job regarding sound. Lighting was done by the decor company and its exactly what we had asked for.
