Nine years ago I was introduced to Keegan by my lovely friend Claire at a beach club in Durban, KwaZulu Natal. I didn't think that he would end up being my best friend and soul mate. From go we were inseparable and have had this love that is unbreakable. We have shared many smiles and tears and still have come through strong. We've achieved so much as a couple and can't wait to see what our future brings.
My friend Claire introduced us while at a club and was persistent with keeping us together. She came over with two shooters of "love potion" (so embarrassing). Little did we know that it actually worked!
Keegan prepared a champagne breakfast outside in our back garden, at first I didn't think anything of it, thought it was just a quick bite before we headed off to the beach for the day. We had planned to meet family at the beach but didn't know it was for our proposal celebration. After breakfast he started to look very serious and then something changed in the tone of his voice, so wasn't sure what was going on, he then went down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Out of shock I started to cry and my hands were shaking, couldn't believe it! I said YES, and we are now so happy to be Mr & Mrs.
A memorable moment was me forgetting my bouquet of flowers behind in the room once I had arrived at the chapel! My brother had to dash back to fetch it for me. The highlight was saying I do in front of family and friends. Another highlight is sharing the same surname, there's something very unique about it that's so special.
My wedding dress is from Wed2B in the UK. My dresses name is called Odette, which was truly special as it's my mom's second name. So just new that it was the one!
Make-up was done by Kendyl McPherson, Nixon Make-up. She was so amazing!
