Richard & I met in April 2015 & officially started dating in July 2015, a year later to the exact anniversary of our relationship, 22nd July, Richard got down on one knee & proposed to me at Shepherd's Tree in the Pilanesberg National park. What was a bit unusual about our wedding planning was that I already knew Rich & I were meant to be together and an engagement was just a matter of timing so I had already set the wedding date, booked the venue, photographer, videographer & florist before the engagement was official!
Tintswalo Atlantic kept popping up on my Facebook news feed & even somehow found its way on my vision board without me even realising, on a trip to Cape Town with a girlfriend we went to Tintswalo & I instantly fell in love, I couldn't imagine a more beautiful location to marry the man of my dreams, so my very trusting husband agreed that I could book the venue for the one cancellation date they had in January without having seen the venue or proposing yet!!! The rest all fell into place after that!
Richard & I both being devout Catholics it was so important to us to have a tradition Maronite Catholic service at St Mary's Cathedral in town, our parish priest from Our Lady of Lebanon in Cedarwood Johannesburg indulged our fairytale & flew to Cape Town for the weekend to marry us.
Both Richard & I are from Johannesburg however I was born in Cape Town & we both wanted an intimate, romantic destination wedding & that's exactly what we got.
Our guest list was just under 100 people & considering we both come from large Portuguese families that was a challenging number to reach. The day was the most perfect magical day & everything I'd imagined my wedding day to be as a little girl. All our special people were around us in the most beautiful setting however we only had eyes for each & looking back all I remember & cherish is how happy & excited we both were to start our lives together & how my husband looked at me that day & how he has never stopped looking at me everyday since, with so much love & tenderness. I'm the luckiest girl in the world!
