Buks and I got engaged at the finish line at Comrades Marathon 2016 after running the whole day and him carrying my ring from start to finish. what makes our wedding so special is the fact the we do everything together....side by side....from start to finish...
For the rest of our lives our anniversary will be on a public holiday and we will be spending this special day together!! We had the most amazing and the best wedding cake with the topper with the same image of the Comrades Finish line, my husband on his knees proposing with the ring, with the Comrades Pacesetter Flag for sub 12h00 and both of us wearing running clothes. Even our PinkDrive Charity bandannas are on our arms supporting our charity. This truly magnificent cake even made Modern Athlete Magazine'photos and their name is also on one of the Pace setting flags.

We had a lot of different cultures, close family and running family members... all very special and dear and with whom we share weekend after weekend, kilometer after kilometer. Helping and supporting each other. The church was traditional as well as the food. We even delivered our wedding invites in stead of soft copy or internet invites. We had popcorn for the confetti and this way the bird could enjoy themselves afterwords in this beautiful garden.

our pre-wedding photos also had something special to it as we were on our marks to a great future together as partners and as husband and wife!!!

We did not have any bridesmaids.... we wanted to have it more personal and I had my mother helping me to get ready for the biggest day of my life and my father waiting in the room to walk me down the isle... and then handing me over to my husband....the love of my life and my best friend
