A classic, white wedding in the Cape Winelands
I arrived in London at the beginning of 2009 with the idea to be young, free and travel the world. I met Anton in the first week of being here and that was pretty much it ;)
In Paris on Pont Neuf Bridge after a day of cycling around the city.

EVERTYHING!! Spending 3 days with all our friends and family from all over the world at Vrede en lust was such a special time – best 72 hours of our lives! ☺
General colour scheme was mostly white with a touch of grey here and there.
3 of my closest friends got married earlier in the year so I was lucky enough to frequent the Pronovias store here in London a few times with them. I realized very quickly that I loved their dresses. In the end, I went for a fitted mermaid style lace dress. I liked the idea of a “poofy” dress but knew that in the Franschhoek heat in January, I would absolutely melt in one of those so opted for a more comfortable choice.
Originally I really wanted my Bridemaids to be in soft grey dresses to match the decor but it was impossible to find a dress in that colour and given that 50% of them lived in London and the rest in SA, I was very hesitant to have them made. In the end I bought very pale pink ones from Forever New - they were chosen in a spontaneous moment while shopping with my mom while on holiday in SA.

Prepare a running order of the day with every detail about what is happening at what time, when people (e.g. Minister, DJ) arrive, order of getting ready for bridesmaids etc. Hand it out to a few people (e.g. MC, Best man, MOH etc.). This made me feel like everything was in control on the Big Day so allowed me to relax and enjoy it.
We live in London so getting married in SA and taken a month off over that time was almost like a honeymoon for us but we plan to do a proper one towards the end of the year in the Maldives.
