Let's take a look at Le Roux and Suané's love story...
We met when we were in grade 3. I moved to Cape Town for a few years, when I came back in Grade 7 we realised there was something special between us. On our grade 7 camp Le Roux asked me to be his girlfriend and we were best “friends” eversince.
February 2019 marked our 10 year anniversary.
We are a fun, loving and goofy couple who's always up for a challenge.
Le Roux: “ I knew for quite some time that I wanted to ask Suané to marry me (About time I know). Typically like me I left everything to the last minute, I asked a few friends and my sister in law (Jalani Baard) to help me with the arrangements regarding the special day.
Jalani arranged with Wilna Allpas Makeup artist,who happens to be a friend of Suané, to do a “trial makeup for her portfolio.” Needless to say it was not a trial it was to get her ready for the photoshoot. As I know Suané, a photoshoot in the moment is a necessary to capture the real emotion and feeling and I made sure everything is in place - the venue, props, sunset and makeup. Everything was set except the ring which I only picked up an hour before the action started (should not have left the ring forgeing to the last minute). Everyone pitched in, kept it secret until the engagement party afterwards.”
Knowing Suané, she LOVES photos. I knew from the beginning that this special moment should be captured on a good quality camera and someone we are both comfortable with.
The shoot took place on one of our good friend's farm, where we were supposed so go for a 'potjie kos’ that evening. The farms name is Buff&Fellow, which is in between George and Groot Brak, Western Cape.
We did not really have a theme as it was a surprise, but I would say very natural and spontaneous like most people know us.
I knew for a long time that I wanted this style of ring because of the meaning. The three diamonds next to one another means Past, Present and Future, which sums up our journey together.
We decided not to have a wedding planner. We have a lot of creative friends and family to help us with the detail of our special day.
We are a very down to earth couple and like to do things the a plain and simple way. For us it's important for everybody to have a good time celebrating our marriage. We have a beautiful venue in Wilderness Westen Cape in the middle of the forest brush overlooking the lake.
